So today is national dog day and I'm really missing my Teddy Bear😭 Teddy Bear has so far been my one and only dog (I don't see myself getting another dog until I have a family of my own). My parents got me Teddy Bear for my 13th birthday and we adopted him from the IACC when he was around 2. My mom and I walked through the whole dog section of the animal shelter and Teddy Bear was the in the very last kennel, as soon as he looked at me I knew he was going to be my first dog. We had quite the struggle finalizing everything to adopting him because so many other families wanted him but in the end he was all mine❤️ Teddy Bear was the best first dog I could of ever asked for and really changed, for the better, as a person. When we adopted him he had all the basic training down but I took him to Pet Smart every week and trained with him for the advanced stuff, that really strengthened our bond. In the end his old age got to him and congestive heart failure really weakened him. He lived a pretty happy life with us I like to think. Teddy Bear probably was about 11-12 when we had to put him down; we put him down the last week of 2015, between Christmas and the New Year 2016.
