Nastas is what Dutch could have been if he didn't lose his mind: He is well-read, eloquent, loves nature, appreciating it and being concerned about it, while being realistic, knowing that nature is going to be destroyed by the claws of industrialization, yet he doesn't go around shooting and murdering people for not thinking like he does and actually knows what he is fighting for. The fact that they have the same voice actor further adds to the symbolism.

Nastas is a supporting character featured in Red Dead Redemption.
With the addition of the Myths and Mavericks DLC pack, Nastas is also a multiplayer character model that may be selected in the "Revolution" section of the Outfitter.
Nastas is a Native American. He was born and raised on a reservation, where he received a classical English education at a boarding school. Being familiar with both sides of the ongoing Native American conflict, Nastas is openly critical of government policy, but also the criminal response of his fellow tribesmen for joining Dutch's Gang.
Dutch's Gang is an outlaw gang led by Dutch van der Linde, featured in Red Dead Redemption. They serve as the main antagonistic faction of the game's West Elizabeth chapter.

Charles gets plenty of love but Nastas has to be my favorite Native American in Red Dead Redemption. He gets so little screen time and I feel sorry for him in every scene he's in.
