Composition 1
This composition is Nariah sitting on a rock inside of her cave, she has human bones surrounding her and she is looking happily into the sunken eye sockets of a once alive sailor. In the background there will be a desaturated ship in the background in order to give more depth to the poster. She has quite warm colours to her so I would imagine the background to be dark navy blues and black.
Composition 2
This composition is inspired by another painting of a siren. There is the rule of thirds while also having a diagonal line from the two figures looking at each other. I didn’t want the secondary figure to still be alive though so I reimagined them to be a carcass reaching up towards Nariah. I haven’t figured out where I will put her name though if I chose to go with this composition. There would be brighter tones in the foreground and less saturated versions of these colours in the background.
Composition 3
For this composition, I wanted to do more of a close up shot of Nariah where you can see her facial features a lot more and have a bigger understanding of how she feels towards her actions. She is sitting on a rock above water and staring into the skulls sunken eye holes, and beside her is a decomposed hand and the other hand is a skeletal hand. In the background there is a floating body, showing the drowned sailors.
Composition 4
This is a completely different route where Nariah is looking straight into the viewers’ eyes and looking a little bit intimidating. I feel like this shows off her greek facial features a lot more than it does in the other mockups. She’s resting sassily on top of her name and her webbed fingers are showing, I really like how this turned out. (I used a picture of myself as reference to get the pose right.)
