Little surprise that Naomi Wolf, the author of “Vagina, a new Biography” and I had an interesting shoot. Her library is full of various religious texts so I lead with a lighthearted inquiry about raising her kids and their understanding of religion. You know, feel good stuff. Deep topics work well with outgoing cerebral subjects who are able to see the goal of the shoot and still be able to engage in real conversation. Naomi did not disappoint. At her synagogue they study a New Testament that is color coded by stuff that Jesus definitely said verbatim, might have, and definitely did not. The whole shoot was comprised of moments like this.
