While my story is far from finished (and further still from perfect), this experience convinced me that I truly can do this. The ideas that have occupied my mind since childhood don’t have to dwell in my imagination alone. They don’t have to sit abandoned in an old Word doc because the thought of finishing a book full of them seemed so foreign, so unfeasible. Now, I believe I can bring these words, these worlds, to life. Every needed tool is at my disposal - even if they need refining to perfect the finished product.

Thank you to everyone who encouraged me along the journey. May there be many more a book that comes from this, and may I be able to share stories aplenty with you all 📚

Sébastien le Livre was born in 1770. He died in 1812, aged 42, after being hung as a deserter from Napoléon Bonaparte's Grande Armée, shortly after the Battle of Berezina. He came back to life with a noose still around his neck and hung there for three days.

This is the story of the 42 years leading to his first death and of how Sébastien le Livre became Booker, forger, soldier, mercenary - and traitor.

Here we are, the first chapter of the Booker origins fic is live <3

In a bit of shock right now, because this is the first time I’ve ever won NaNoWriMo. It’s also officially the first fic I have ever finished. Ever. I know, I have a terrible track record, but I’m not as prolific as all the talented writers I’ve seen in the fandom on tumblr; I don’t know how you all do it.

But it is done, and all that’s left now is to edit and do the epilogue. Then I can open this baby’s cage and release it to the wild.

The Book of Broken Strings - WIP Re-introduction

(Considering how much the plot has changed since I first introduced this, I figured I’d make an updated version!)

(EDIT: This is now also slightly outdated I’m so sorry)

Genres: Fantasy, LGBTQ, psychological horror

Themes/tropes: Family (found and blood), trauma, love, abuse, slow burn (ish?), weird magic rules, lots of messing with psychology, queer everything

Content Warnings: Abuse (physical, emotional, sexual, etc. some against children), some violence, in depth depictions of mental illness

Summary:

Twig’s mother is gone, and she doesn’t know why. Ollie has been cast out into the snow, and he’s sure it’s his own fault. Arin seeks adventure, and has no doubt the world will be kind.

Ollie finds Twig in an alley, and knows she can’t be left there. A few days later, Arin joins the group, having found them just in time before it could’ve all gone wrong. Now they’re following the only clue they have: a peice of paper given to Twig in her last moments with her mother, the words Henkia Sancturary scrawled upon it. But both Twig and Ollie find the people that hurt them haven’t given up yet, and Arin is learning the world may not be as kind as he thought.

Characters:

Ollie Alimose - The Tinkerer - 24: A very sweet, very anxious lad who just wants everyone to be okay. Has a Lot of things to deal with in his head and life but is having a hard time seeing or admitting that. A skilled tinkerer, especially enjoying building toys and music boxes, although it’s been a while since his hands have been steady enough to do so.

Twig - The Child - 7: Now out of the home she was raised in for the very first time, she’s absolutely amazed at everything the world has to offer, her curiosity often overtaking her fear of the unknown. Part Spirit, and knows it, but doesn’t quite know what that means just yet. Surprisingly smart for her age, though still gets to act like a kid and have fun, now she’s in better hands.

Arin Casias - The Detective - 25: A high energy, positive thinking, kind hearted fellow who’s excited to finally leave his quaint little village and see the world. Makes it his duty to help whenever the need is presented, no matter if payment is received in return or not. Not quite prepared for the darker side of the world, but will learn, fighting to not lose his warmth the whole way.

Status: drafting. 

Synopsis: Wendy and her brothers got rescued from the streets of London by Captain Hook and his crew. Now, Hook is finally dead thanks to Peter Pan, and Wendy seeks for revenge. Peter, on the other hand, tries to keep everything under control, because pirates were not the only enemies Neverland has.

Themes: found family, revenge, emotional blackmail, death, stress, betrayal, first love, enemies to lovers, fake friendship.
