6. Did you start nano with a blank page, an outline, or something already written?
Technically, I started it with an outline and some stuff already written. Leading up to Nano, I was trying to make sure I wrote these characters for my writing group warm-ups so I could start getting to know them outside of the planning we’d done out loud. For the first Nano ever, I actually made an outline -- which is to say that I wrote the key scenes I knew I wanted onto post it notes and put them up on one side of a closet door. Then as I finished them (or wrote new ones), I’ve been moving the sticky notes to the other side of the closet to mark them done.
7. Pitch your book in 240 characters or less!
Queer found family finding home and solace in one another, but make it magic. I want this book to be like a warm cup of tea in your favorite nook. I want it to be a sudden summer rain when you don’t have an umbrella. I want it to tell you something about me, but also something about yourself. Believe in magic, believe in real soulmates, not just the romantic ones, and believe that family can be more than just blood and home can be more than just a place.

24.which character is most like you? So far? I think Sister #2 (names. NAMES ARE HARD) is most like me. Loyal to a fault and physically incapable of defending herself when the blame lands on her.
which character is least like you? Monster #1 - He is patient, incredibly patient, and has survived his hunger for who knows how long. But he’s not too smart, swarming straight into a lantern only because he’s attracted to the brightest thing in the room. Ferocious, too, in both his appetite and ambition, and honestly, he scares the bejebus out of me, I don’t know why I created him. XD
