Dad, my life is crumbling before me, and I really need some sweetheart, cuddles and kisses and reassurance that everything will be okay with Sal. Please? 🥺
I’m so sorry to hear that that you’re not doing well, Nami-chan 🥺 I hope this ficlet can help make you feel a little better 💕💕💕
Sal comforting his S/O during a breakdown-
>y/n had been having a rough time. If it wasn't one thing, it was another, and if something could go wrong, it did. Every little mishap and problem had added a little more weight to the emotional load they were carrying already, and it seemed like the moment they were able to toss one burden from their shoulders, two more got piled on
>Their patience had been worn thin, and it only took a mild inconvenience to snap the last thread keeping their composure together- y/n was suddenly crumpled on the floor of the apartment they shared with Sally, no longer able choke back the sobs they had been holding in or focus enough to keep themselves upright. They sobbed into their hands and wailed in frustration- why couldn't one thing, just one stupid thing, go right for them?
>They didn't hear the quick padding of Sals feet on the hardwood as he came down the hallway, and were startled when they suddenly found themselves surrounded by his arms. They pushed away instinctively, defending themselves from the intrusion in their space, but dove headfirst into his chest when they realized what they had done. Y/n clung to him and shook as they wept-
"I'm so sorry Sal, I didn't mean to push you- I'm sorry, I'm sorry," they were taking shallow, rapid breaths, and Sal could feel his shirt become damp with their tears as they rambled out apologies.
>He held them tightly and softly shushed them, encouraging them to breathe as he gently rocked them from side to side. With his coaxing, y/n slowly released the rigidity of their muscles and allowed themselves to relax in his grip as they swayed.
>He took a hand away from y/ns back. They heard him fumbling with something until there was a quiet 'click!' and the hair was pushed from their brow- Sal pressed his bare lips against y/ns forehead, kissing them tenderly over and over again, momentarily unconcerned with his own insecurity in favor of soothing them. His mouth was uneven and patched together with seams of tough scar tissue, and some kisses were admittedly more teeth then lip, but the gesture and the warmth of his skin made y/n go slack against him.
>They let Sally lavish them in attention that they hadn't realized they needed. Y/n had been neglecting themselves and drowning in worry, but in this moment their mind was finally, blissfully blank. Their only focus was on him- sound of his voice, no longer muffled by his mask, the feeling of his lips, peppering their face with soft kisses, and the comfort of him supporting them, both emotionally and physically.
"It's going to be okay, y/n... You don't need to worry, I've got you. I'm here, I'm here..."
