Whatever we do, those SMG4 "fans" will always get their little pants in a twist, but the more evidence from their bullying we have, the more stupid they'll look at the end.

Well, I hope so too, but I'm also not in Mod's head and I have no idea what's gonna happen. Don't worry, what you ask makes sense !

Sad part is : all of this could have been avoided if, y'know, Glitch/SMG4 had answered to that legal letter 2 years ago, or to that first wave of asking them to reply to Mod 2 months ago. Would have been very easy, yet it's not what happened, sadly :/

And ALL of this could have been avoided if people didn't chose to be dicks... over a character's design, accusing Mod of plagiarism and threatening to cancel them, and trying to push them to suicide.

Guess that'll be for the SMG4 fandom to make sure there's no relapse, then ^^ after all, Mod clearly made posts, multiple times, to not ask them about Mr Puzzles and SMG4, to not mention him or his many resemblances to RGB because it makes them extremely uncomfortable, and to please leave them alone with that. So, the people responsible for that just have to listen, take action and prevent their own sides' haters from doing that, like we've been striving to do for ours since 2 months.

I think there are lots of ways with how people can prevent a relapse and help Mod out : by each doing their part. For us, it's keeping everyone calm, chill, well-behaved and supportive on our side, for the SMG4-side, it's taking an active stand against their own toxic fandom and make sure in no uncertain terms that the haters aren't welcome, that no one will pester someone else ever again. Preventing them from annoying us.

If they don't wanna do that, they're part of the problem, methinks. Easy to blame the victim when they're triggered by the harassers, after all - so the best solution ? Remove the harassers or prevent them to reach out to the victim ! That way, there's lesser chances of triggering the victim, and allowing said victim to heal.

Personal case : I went through 23 years of abuse, 15 of them being school-based, the whole of it being familial. I could finally start to heal when the problem finally got away (my mom, who once she saw we weren't taking her shit anymore, fled tail between legs and it wasn't even hers). It's been 6-ish years I'm out : yeah I still have triggers (loud noises, parents screaming at their children in the streets, getting clapped on the back, fire, etc) but I learned to healthily manage them more and more because the main source walked out of my life (and added by me cutting ties with her) - I wasn't exposed anymore !

One of the jobs the SMG4 side could do is, indeed, reduce exposure and not go seek Mod out, write them messages, or invade their posts, like this right today :

They're never happy, are they, huh ? TPoH on hiatus because of a mental breakdown THEY caused and it's "holding the comic hostage", "whining", "needing to get over it" and "being manipulative". TPoH starting to publish again semi-regularly DESPITE said mental breakdown and they call it "bs".

Damned if we do, damned if we don't. So like I said to someone else, might as well do.

I want to end it peacefully too, just like you ! And to avoid relapses, there's a simple way : maybe folks can then leave Mod (and us) the hell alone. But we both know that's not gonna happen. Because some folks are self-entitled little bastards that can't bear having to face the consequences of their own actions. They pushed us to that lawsuit, after all, so they're the ones at fault for that.

So, I'm preparing for when they'll come. And when that moment arrives...

Oh boy are they gonna regret having messed with me and the fandom I translate for.

I'm not Mod's right-hand man or anything : translator or not, affiliating with the TPoH side or not, I'm pretty much doing all that on my own.

Calling me an "indie player" would be a misnomer - like said, I clearly come from a definite side here, so maybe "loose canon" would be closer - but yeah there's a bit of that in there : I just prefer trying to help a real person over a fictional character.

So, yeah, would appreciate it if everyone could work together to make things easier for everyone ^^

And for those who just want to hate, well, they've been warned several times at that point. Like said, I'm a loose canon.

Also, yes, I know what people say about Mod sending anything or not. But we all know that doubting that is factually stupid, because Mod would very much like to stop the harassment they've been receiving and has been trying to contact SMG4/Glitch over 2 years now - I don't know of anyone who would pay 4 000£ to "fake" anything.

And if people doubt even that (the fact that they paid a lawyer 4 000£ for a legal letter), it shows how biased and deep in denial they are. Yet they're willing to trust Cube/FM's statement of "it's just a coincidence" blindly, despite there being zero attached design researches or pics proving that it IS just a coincidence - if Mr Puzzles went by many iterations, how come Cube doesn't simply show them to dispell doubts ? But maybe they're not allowed to, the same way Mod might not be allowed to show the content of their legal letter and what they sent Glitch/SMG4.

And yet, basically they don't believe Modmad's word but believe Cube's no problem.

Double standards.

Note, I'm not spitting on Cube/FM here : the very fact that they did something and released a statement about it in 9 days (which is way more than SMG4 has ever done in 2 years, 1 month, 1 full week now) proves that they're way more reactive and willing to help out (or... have been asked to - but at least they did it) than Glitch's CEOs - the ones who commissioned the creation of Mr Puzzles to use him.

Plus, again, I see Cube/FM's statement as INCREDIBLY helpful : first of all, they do not condone the hate and do not excuse it, which is great. Second, even they note why they "can see why people may draw comparisons", black on white. Every denier and decrier got discredited in one fell swoop here.

Same thing goes for the people saying that Modmad's "timing" is suspicious : they're either completely not updated, or gladly ignoring the fact that things have started 2 years before CAV's announcement ever popped up but tried to get solved in the shadows, in the background (like how they're lamenting it didn't happened in the same breath most times) but Mod's legal letter got either unseen or ignored.

The fact that Mod is making this public now is because they faced a NEW peak of harassment (since the hatemails never really died down in 2 years, but peaked once in 2024 and now again in 2026) DUE to CAV's annoucement and people confusing RGB for Mr Puzzles and vice-versa, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

They're forgetting that Mr Puzzles (and his uncanny resemblance to RGB) getting more and more popular and seen is the catalyst that started it all.

Folks saw CAV's announcement, and THEN went to harass Mod all over again. Mod is reacting to the harassment, and standing up for themself, saying enough is enough - things have been way beyond what's acceptable since 2 whole years (starting 2024 at least) but since it didn't happen publicly and these people didn't saw it, they act as if it didn't exist.

Things have gone so far that now Mod is reduced to using a Cease & Desist to force SMG4/Glitch to talk to them, as they literally had 2 years, 1 month, and a full week to answer now.

If Glitch/SMG4 doesn't answer by next week, they will be legally seen as in the wrong because it can be held against them (they didn't try to respond to a peaceful way of solving the issue) and Mod can pursue legal procedures against them.

Hence why we're urging them to finally go talk to Mod and finally put it all to rest : if they don't respond and keep ignoring, they will look like the bad guys in the eyes of everyone, and they will have less and less excuses no matter what they did. Their credibility will tank.

Basically, they're shooting themselves in the foot if they don't respond to Mod's C&D. Even IF they aren't guilty of anything : the fact that they remained silent and chose to not answer or drag it out hoping it would stop on its own will give legal authorities reasons to think that they do have something to hide.

We're fully trying to be the fairest possible to Glitch/SMG4 here : we've given them many chances to go answer Mod because we do NOT want people to think they're automatically the bad guys. They may have a good reason why this all happened but if they aren't willing to communicate with us, they will look like they're guilty, despite it all being the haters' fault !

And it would be ten times MORE unfair to the rest of Glitch because people will think them guilty by association (the VAs, the animators, the producer teams for the shows, etc) when they have done nothing bad and have nothing to do with this situation, because, as it has been proven, some folks simply don't think !

We want to protect the workers at Glitch from that !

But to fully answer and re-center to your question : yes, some people are spreading factually wrong news about Mod, yes, some people are in the wrong about the situation (I don't mean their opinion, I mean their knowledge of the situation, thinking it's all an attention-grabbing ploy when it's very much the opposite of that - or else Mod would have called for the TPoH fandom's help 2 years ago right off the bat and made it public back then).

We can't just stop and get angry on every individual we encounter talking shit about Mod, us, or the situation - it wouldn't end. But what we can do is screenshot and send to the people collecting info and screenshots about the situation. Like "hey, I've got something interesting, could you look at this ?" - it's very helpful !

As far as I am aware, there's been no updates on it, and the fact a teaser trailer was announced has me confused for what has happened. Any input on what you think about this?

I can only speculate so again my word isn't gospel, but the goal has never been to cancel any shows, erase any characters, or stop any productions. Of course ZAM's gonna keep working on it, that's literally their job, and they're doing it ! There's no antagonizing them for that.

They're doing what they've been paid to do : they're not the creators of Mr Puzzles and his design, just the ones who got paid to use him by said creators.

Doesn't mean J4A is doing nothing either - though I have no idea what happens in the background, since it's out of my hands and not my business. Like all the fans, my own goal was to raise awareness and make enough noise so the case is picked up, which happened, so my job is done here. My other job (self-assigned due to circumstances, nobody asked me anything) is to try to keep people calm, communicate, and respond to asks like I'm doing right now to the best of my ability, because I want everyone safe and sound and out of this mess, on both sides ^^

I'm guessing what you're asking is along the lines of "now with the teaser announcement, won't this shit start all over again ?"

Well, yeah, it could - in fact, there's a high chance, because people are bloody stupid and won't pass a chance to spew hatred from the comfort of their own little homes, just because they can.

Which to me will add even MORE reasons and justifications to what we're doing, actually : hey look Glitch/SMG4, it's happening a THIRD time that your fandom is harassing an indie creator over your character.

Said character isn't at fault, but since it'd happen once more over similarities, maybe admit that there's a recurring problem with the character's design, and either do something about it so it won't happen again (and we face one last wave because people will just get pissy about it at this point, also for being called out), or ally with the indie creator to put it to rest once and for all.

Basically, if the haters do what they do worst and hate (and I'm betting they won't be able to help themselves), they just prove all our points and that we definitively have a leg to stand on.

What can we do on our side ?

-As always, screenshot, copy-paste links where the harassment happens, and send to the side of the fandom that has compilers (@timmyreads and me, @hisui555, for those I know). If the haters are going to hate, they're just gonna give us evidence on a plate.

-Support Mod, leave them a kind message, and stick together. Haters are more powerful when they isolate, hiding behind anonimity, but I've never seen a single one dare to talk back once enough resistance is shown. They're literally cowards. Together, we're way stronger : proof, we got results in 9 days (Cube's statement), and have managed to help to the point a legal team took the case in around 2 weeks. That's no small feat.

-Keep being nice, keep being well-behaved, keep being the least judgemental possible. Some people are going through genuine heartbreak due to this whole affair, because they like one or the other character, and some just want to defend a character and show they like. Show understanding, show empathy : even if we're fighting for a person we love and they're fighting for a character, it's still something they love and that brings them comfort, too. I think we can understand that feeling.

-Protect the artists, protect the kind fans on both sides, protect everyone who's at risk of receiving backlash just because they're affiliated by one or the other side (the VAs, the writers, the producers, the fans, etc). Show them support where the backlash happens, screenshot and either send, or post on your own. The more people see we're willing to defend them, the less grasp the haters have.

-Don't overask said people - like said, they're just a cog in the machine, oftentimes even they don't have the answers. Leave them alone. The ones we wanted to reach are currently in discussion with J4A, we did our job here, folks. Any more will be overshooting and might end up corking the whole thing. Let's not put our efforts to naught.

-Whatever the side : do NOT harass. Do NOT send hatemail. Do NOT send hateasks. If you see it happening, screenshot or send link to where it happens, and/or ping me in (@hisui555). Whatever the side, if it's an SMG4 hater or a TPOH hater, that's unacceptable.

As for me, well, again (meant generally) :

-Don't ask me about what J4A could be doing, I have no idea, that's out of my hands, and not my business. I legit don't know more than you.

-Don't ask me about Glitch/SMG4's side of the story and why they didn't respond. I don't know either. That's their side of the story and like you, I'd like it hear it too.

-Don't think I'm Mod's right-hand man or anything (a lot of people seem to be thinking that because I happen to be the French translator of TPOH), I'm doing all this on my own. If it helps, think of me as a loose canon : nobody asked me anything, I'm pretty much doing 'what I feel like' doing, in a way.

-Don't overask me, or ask the same questions over and over again. Past one point, I'm gonna start binning and ignoring them.

-Don't take my word as Mod's, or Mod's word as mine. We're two separate, independent people, each with their own opinions and ideas. I'm not a representative of them and they aren't mine.

-I can only speculate, guess, research, and so on. I'm a lambda person with background as an artist and all it entails, but I'm not the holder of any universal truths.

-Don't forget that I'm a person, too : I have a life, a job, I make mistakes - please correct me if you see one. Also, I'm human, not a tool. Using me as a magical mirror to provide answers just because Mod isn't responding and you're feeling snobbed ain't gonna fly either. I'm also not blind that people come to me to try to get information on the situation they could use against others, or spreading false stuff about me on other social media - I'm aware. You're just giving me more fuel.

In all honesty, I have no idea - I'm a cynical person so I tend to think about the crankiest answers first, which is also a flaw of mine. So please don't take my word as gospel : I'm not the referencial authority of what's going on, just someone else trying to make sure we all go through the storm with the least damage possible on BOTH sides, and mainly help Mod out.

For all I know they might be looking into it with their own legal team now and can't answer yet because said legal team is advising them how to - I don't really have a concrete idea how it works. And if they ARE indeed doing that, being hasty will just be detrimental : the messenger bird has finally reached them, let's not kill it.

I fully understand your frustration, the whole thing upsets me too - but Mod probably felt (and is feeling) the worst out of us all : it's been so long they've been at this, on their lonesome. We can, however, take part of the load off their shoulders so it's less crushing, by keeping to do what we're doing, without antagonizing anyone or being disrespectful : the better our side looks, the less ammo we give the ones wanting to harm Mod and us. Also, like said, most of the time, chances are we're addressing a person that's just part of the thing and not one of those we'd like answers from, even if they still have contact with said key-people. They deserve kindness and understanding too.

We already reached two steps : make them acknowledge us and aware of the issue, and get someone on the inside that's directly involved with Mr Puzzles' creation issuing a statement that the hate is absolutely unforgivable, and, even if it has the words "it's coincidental" in it, still acknowledges the similarities. It may seem like nothing but it's actually an irrefutable fact now, and thus can't be denied, and I take comfort in that fact : we got what we wanted.

We're cumulating small victories : it's been 10 days, and we're still mostly well-behaved, doing damage-control, spreading the news, and now we finally have something. We'll keep protecting everyone involved on BOTH sides until we have answers - and even then, let's not turn to hate : we're better than the harrassers.

Let's keep going. Kindly, politely, least judgemental as possible, but going.

It's not over, not until things finally solve out, but we made a difference, and that's not negligeable. Baby steps, but steps nonetheless !

I think we'll have to do with not having an answer for the lack of replies for now - this will probably only determined later, once they've contacted Mod. We can speculate all we want but we can't know for sure, and we can't accuse them of one thing or another - not our place.

What we CAN do is ease the process to bring them to Mod's metaphorical doorstep so they'll finally communicate with them directly, and hopefully find a peaceful solution. We'll ask the relevant questions after that.

Okay, so, just generally, if I've already answered that type of ask (just like something on the appearance of Mr Puzzles or stuff like that : technically, if he'll change and what he'd look like ain't in my hands either), would be cool if nobody could overask - especially if we already have or talked about that info.

Once more, we can theorize and speculate all we want, as long as we don't have Glitch/SMG4's side of the story, we can't paint a target on anyone's back.

Yeah, why they aren't answering is still the biggest question mark, but it's not one I can answer : I can only put what-if scenarios, and on my dash, I already did a good ton of them or two. Plus, I'm not an eight-ball that anyone can shake for answers, especially if someone tried with Mod and turned to me when Mod didn't answered : I'm happy to answer to people, but if it's the same thing a hundred of times, I'm gonna just start redirecting to previous asks already done.

Maybe I can put a masterpost to make things easier to find, but if you have an ask, please check that it hasn't been already answered : sometimes you mind find your answer, or part of it, in another post.

"Why is Glitch/SMG4 not responding" is a type of ask that has already been answered, and on which I can legit NOT answer, just offer speculations and what-if scenarios, since I'm not Glitch/SMG4. All I can answer is that we can't make them the villains if we don't know the truth - let's not jump to conclusions too fast.

Again, if things get too scary or overwhelming, step away from the screens, do something that makes you happy, take a breather, take time for yourself, alright ? ^^
