The day Nakuri died took a great toll on him. Nakuri had been a good and trusted friend of his among the other soldiers in the empire. They met five years prior when they both underwent official training for the Demaxian military. They’re large gap in skill made it hard for the two of them to be in the same place, but they made do.

They had promised to help each other in any way. Once Kayn became Ordinal he sponsored Nakuri, wrote him stellar letters of recommendations; he did everything within his power to promote the man to higher positions. It was not because Nakuri was his friend, he was not that blind. Nakuri was strong and capable; a compassionate leader that was diligent in his work. He had great potential and Kayn saw that.

I wrote this for funsies. It supposedly takes place days after Kayn gets Rhaast.
