“When I said ‘dress up for some bedroom fun time’, I really didn’t mean this,” Aiichirou said, gesturing to Nagisa and his… costume.

“I look sexy in anything, Ai-chan,” Nagisa sniffed. “You said so yourself.”

“Babe,” Aiichirou groaned. “You’re wearing an inflatable hippo costume. You have a tutu.”

“Okay, so there was no sexy hippo costume at the store,” Nagisa said, throwing his hands up. Aiichirou could barely see him through the mesh covering his face. “This was the best I could come up with. I figured I’d make you laugh instead.”

Aiichirou’s heart melted, just a bit. He reached out his hands and Nagisa shuffled forward. But then the inflated belly of the hippo costume hit Aiichirou’s skin and he couldn’t do it. He threw his head back, laughter billowing out of him. He could feel Nagisa pouting, but he couldn’t help it. He was too amused.

“Okay, okay,” he wheezed. “Just. Take the costume off, and we’ll start over, okay?”

“Okay.” Nagisa still sounded glum, but there was a sparkle to it that told Aiichirou that he was just playing. He watched Nagisa wriggle around until he found the zipper and then wrestled his way out of the costume, giggling the entire time. When Nagisa was free, Aiichirou sat back on the bed and held his hands out.

Nagisa crawled onto the bed with him, hovering over him with their noses just inches apart. “Hi,” he said.

“Hi,” Aiichirou replied.

“You’re cute.” Aiichirou shook his head.

“The fact that you did that, just to make me laugh?” Aiichirou asked. “That’s cute. I love you.”
