13. What fic would you recommend to someone who wants to cry?

*Begrudgingly hands over my "#1 Kadolin Hater" trophy*... Go Read My Darling, My Love, My Light by kiminsocks (whose username on here is evading me please tag Kim if you know?) right now! It's Kadolin-centric—with my absolute favorite throuple ever Tien/Renarin/Laral—enabled by Dalinar being assigned Citylord of Hearthstone instead of Roshone. It seriously goes from sweet to kicking you and kicking you and kicking you and kicking you and—you get the point, right? And the brilliant thing about it is that it would NOT have hurt as much as it did without the sweetness and that preceeded it. Fuck. Jesus. Damn it. If you're seeing this, you're a really amazing author and you made me fucking FEEL.

14. What fic would you recommend to someone who wants to laugh?

It's an explicit fic, so forewarning there, but Another Rlain Dishwasher Nap Fic by Axehound aka @cosmereplay (Sorry for tagging you a billion times today lol). I dont know what to tell you about this fic. Rlain has a dishwasher nap kink.

27. Is there a fic author you'd like to shout out? Why do they stand out to you?

This is another case of "Just One?!?" But fiiiine.

Oooo okay so I'm GENERALLY not a big shakadolin shipper, but a couple other fics inspired me to write the trio as yuri, specifically with Kaladin as transfem and established relationship Shadolin.

The premise is Kaladin thinks no one knows about her gender OR her crush on the princess and her fiancé, but The Lopen was the first one to figure both of those things out and has about as much subtlety as a caffeinated chasmfiend in the Elendel Basin, and basically everyone is trying to get Kaladin to realize how desperately the engaged Shadolin want her as their girlfriend, not their boyfriend.

@mayaeatsbooks. Like I don't think there's more to say about it. Objectively I hadn't so much as considered it until she started talking about it and now I'm #Team ShalVin for life.

2) What are your favorite things about the ship?

How they portray themselves in public is ABSOLUTELY exactly the other's type early in their series. Shallan is a somewhat snarky, intelligent aristocrat like Elend, and Vin is rough-around-the-edges and extremely competent, while also having a kind exterior if you get through the layers and layers and layers and layers of trauma like Kaladin!

1. When did you start the cosmere?

Augh it was a little before I came out, I only remember because the first name I tried was Valette... So maybe late 2020? I binged Mistborn book 1 and then didn't touch Well of Ascension until like 2023, after I'd read the first four Stormlight books.

7. What’s your favorite cosmere theory?

That the thing that Sazed performed between Mistborn Era 2 and Isles of the Emberdark is the reassignment of Shardic Intent. Whether that means splitting Harmony into new components or turning "Harmony" fully into Discord or Discord back into Harmony, I am unsure.

2. What's an underappreciated (low kudos or comments) fic with this ship/trope?

Every Shasnah fic deserves more appreciation there are only 49 of them—I MEAN!!! Well, actually that was a genuine answer, if I were to shoutout one in particular it'd be In The Gemlight by leafhands. I'm a bit of a hypocrite insofar as I haven't commented on this one but it's still super cute and worth a read, kudo, and comment! And yes, I am going to reread it today and comment :)

8. Do you have any ideas for fic with this ship/trope?

Augh!!!! Yes!!! Other than the Shasnah half of my soulmate AU fic Blossoming Souls (rare self plug lmao) I have a few more Shasnah stories in the brain.

One of them is an E-rated T4T take on the bath scene that might honestly end up reworked and included as a chapter of Blossoming Souls??? Haven't decided. It was originally called "Kiss From a Rose" but I couldnt figure out how to end it... But it would be immensely entertaining to me if I were to include it in the Soul Flower AU, what with its title.

Then I have an idea for a cis!Jasnah x trans!Shallan modern AU fic with Jasnah as a professor at a university and Shallan as the broke art-school dropout barista who serves her coffee every morning.
