I always took Myrto as being quite a bit older than Patroclus. The one thing we have about her is that she had a child fathered by Hercules and, while mythological timelines are wonky, Hercules is very firmly in a generation or two at least before even the mature contingent at Troy. I figured he was late middle age, Myrto a teenager (ew, but not atypical), and Patroclus, like, 3 when it all went down. Maybe he has vague memories of Herc getting a little friendly with his sister at a feast or something idk
Also this would be a fun parallel to Achilles half-sister having a child fathered by a river that seems to be roughly the same age as him in the Iliad.
