chapter one of tfc has been reread and ive had two timeline realizations:
1. neil says he "hadn't seen kevin in almost 8 years" (pg 6) which makes me think the anniversary of neil and mary fleeing is coming up. along with the fact its april and neil just got booted from his high school league playoffs im wondering if nathan chopping a guy to death mightve happened during an exy championship (its been a million years since i looked at the ec and idk if nora ever mentions the specifics of this)
2. neil would've had his fake birthday like a week ago...wymack giving him a future...real boy neil josten's first (late) bday gift...
3. unrelated realization is that neil says the phrase "knew better" (or a similar sentiment) 5 times in the first 15 pages. which is miserable to think about. and also deserves a whole post on its own in relation to andreil but im omw to dinner so that has to wait
