( sms: little brother. ) How are you, Taeyong? I'm sorry that I haven't been able to look for you and to actually be there, when I promised to. I hope you're doing fine, hyung is caught up with a small mischief here in Japan, but I will be back soon. That's a promise. Stay safe and be careful.
Realization of the misconduct he’s participated in corrodes both the emotional and mental state of his wellbeing, brought to light by an endearingly salient figure who plays an important role in his life. Taeyong has long since regretted the things he has done and the mistakes he has made; and no amount of dejection of repentance can compensate for the damage he has caused.
When he closes his eyes, he sees their faces. When he clears his mind, he hears their screams. Taeyong is never at peace with himself, and he has no one to blame other than himself. Not his father, not his team, and definitely, the Heisei. His head falls back onto the crest rail of the chair he’s seated on and he stares at the immeasurable string of constellations belted across the sky.
Ursa Major, Ursa Minor, Orin, Taurus, and Gemini. Of them all, he could only remember five. How could he have forgotten when his brother used to share their stories with him as a child? Those are the memories he remembers, those are the memories he will always cherish, dearly.
Taeyong turns his attention to his phone after the soft ding, glancing at the name that appeared. Myungsoo. He thinks he’s mistaken, takes a double-look at the name to confirm whether his mind was playing tricks against itself or not. He sits up, his spine straightens, and he fetches his phone off of the armrest. His thumb presses down the home button and his screen lights up. Taeyong reads the name a second time to himself and was rendered silent, completely silent.
Kim Myungsoo.
( SMS: Myungsoo )
It’s been awhile since I’ve last heard from you. I hope you’ve been doing well since the last time we’ve spoken with each other. That being said, I’m doing alright. Not good, but alright. My life’s been a little hectic, but it’s nothing that I can’t handle. And, don’t worry about me. You went to Japan for a reason, and stay there until you’re finished doing whatever it is that you planned on doing.
( SMS: Myungsoo )
Stay safe, and don’t worry about me, Myungsoo. I’ll be fine, I promise.
