So happy to have hit my locsβ 7 month birthday on the 20th! They are slowly but surely starting to fill in πππ. We have come such a long way.
I started doing my own maintenance at 6 months. I wash with Trader Joeβs Tea Tree Tingle, condition with a mixture of Design Essentials Stimulations Super Moisturizing Conditioner and almond oil, and retwist with Taliah Waajid Tight Hold loc gel.
I have a very simple regimen. I sleep on a satin pillowcase and refresh every morning with water and either tea tree or jojoba oil. I avoid tying them up and am trying not to style unless for special occasions until my one year mark.
I still love my locs, probably even more now. Every stage has been beautiful, including this βawkwardβ one. The winter cold has forced me to wear a hat every now and then, but I love to show them off!
