How about #38 Jonny / Dan?
The last time Johnny got a speeding ticket was in Chicago and even being the Captain of the Blackhawks hadnât gotten him out of it, so itâs not like heâs expecting any special treatment when the lights start flashing behind him just because heâs back home and brought the Stanley Cup with him. For the second time.Â
"License and registration, sir."Â
Johnny nods and leans over to his glove box. âSorry, officer, I didnât realize how fast I was going.âÂ
Johnny uses his best Good Student voice that all his teachers used to love. It only makes this guy laugh.Â
"Yeah, Iâm sure youâre riding high after that win still."Â
Johnny looks up at him and oh, wow. Hot. Damn hot.Â
He flashes his best coy smile, the one heâs flat out told interviews the âgirlsâ like, except no one knows he really only cares about using it on guys. âYou a fan, officer?âÂ
The guy â Johnny squints at his nameplate âOfficer Wattâ â snorts. âI prefer to support local teams, but, well. Youâre good for Canada.âÂ
Johnny laughs. âWell, thanks.âÂ
Officer Wattâs glancing at his license and then looking at Johnny from beneath his eyelashes. Johnnyâs throat goes a little dry.Â
"Yeah, seriously, sorry about this. Changes in speed limits fuck me up sometimes when Iâm back home."Â
"Iâll bet," he snorts, pausing to regard Johnny before handing him his items back. "Here, donât worry about it."Â
Johnny smiles up at him, purely genuine this time and feels his breath catch a little when the guy smiles back, openly.
Theyâre caught in a stare that Johnny canât seem to look away from until he forces himself to clear his throat and say, âHey, thanks. Um, can buy you a drink when youâre off duty? Show my appreciation?âÂ
"Meet me at Earls at 10?"Â
Johnny nearly swallows his tongue. He honestly expected a brush off or like, a reprimand for propositioning an officer while on duty.Â
"Yeah, absolutely⌠you got a first name, Officer Watt?"Â
He smiles, taping the hood of Johnnyâs car. âYep,â before walking back to his car. Johnny watches him in the drivers side mirror, mouth a little open.
