I'm so so happy it reached you and made an impact! Don't apologize I'm glad you reached out! I got the idea after dealing with my own self esteem issues, so im glad it resonated with someone else (I was kinda worried it was a bit niche haha)

The biggest thing I specifically wanted to emphasize was that the end goal was NOT purely weight loss, since a lot of times media only focuses on that. Most times when I see stuff about insecure plus size characters or reader inserts, it always ends with them getting thin and fit. Losing weight is a completely valid option, but some people just need to be reminded that it isn't a requirement

i def think naim fucks w some gregg araki as previously mentioned in this post - mentioned this in the comments w @cafevivi but i think he loves smiley face in particular for stoned movie nights w ryan - its funny and chaotic enough that ryan actually pays attention and giggles w naim the whole time (as for another araki movie i think naim experiences the canon event of getting emotionally destroyed by mysterious skin - definitely a movie that i think hits really hard for him and ryan both when they blind watch it and end the movie sobbing together. the credits roll and ryan turns to naim, snot running out of his nose, and says "this is the smiley face guy????")

i like to think that naim as a kid had a favorite fun 80s movie he used to watch with his dad that he rediscovers post bandee and holds a special place in his heart - maybe something cheesy like teen wolf or a little more classic like ferris bueller's day off. something fun and wholesome but nostalgically bittersweet

not film but i feel like in his mid/late twenties naim gets into twin peaks (huge projecting moment - i love twin peaks and david lynch immensely and my dale cooper poster is watching me type this). i think he's rlly fond of laura palmer and she's probably the profile pic on his anon twitter account that he uses to argue w people lollllll. theres always stupid twin peaks discourse on that dumbass site and i just KNOW naim is in peoples replies defending laura palmers name like his life depends on it. def gets his account suspended for telling someone to kill themselves when they insinuate laura deserved to die

this is def inspired by joe bird saying this is one of his letterboxd top fours but i think naim LOVES get out. lots of parallels to be made there between the plots of get out and leviticus that i could dig into for days but its also just a fucking awesome movie that i think naim would love

i think he'd also rlly like in the mood for love. such an intimate and touching movie about yearning, i think it reminds him a lot of ryan and of their early years but unfortunately bc it is a slower movie ryan falls asleep when they watch it together 💔😔

i think naim LOVES carrie - her weird offputting girl energy has charmed him so hard. again that movie is also just an all around banger but i also think there are #parallels that could be made there

aaaand i wanna say i think he would also love heathers and party girl - both campy, funny, and overall just iconic films that are beloved in the queer community and i feel like he def watches w some city queer friends

And I will tell you my:

First impression I never played the game I saw Terry in. I only knew about him because my sister played CAPCOM vs. SNK, and also wouldn't stop playing audio files of the characters over Youtube. So I was rather familiarized with Terry's stimulations without ever knowing him personally.

He felt like that bright, loud classmate I only knew in school. But you felt like you kinda knew him in a good sorta way.

So I would've loved to have seen his reveal in Smash without being unintentionally spoiled by those in the social media realm... Oh well.

Impression now Terry is really just a random white guy you see on the streets.

But. For some reason that "realness" about him is what I think makes him very likeable. His story-- despite all the chi-energy-hoo-hah that's mixed into it-- feels believable for the most part, and the loss(es) he's met make you feel for him. Especially since he takes up the responsibility of caring for someone after causing him to face a similar fate he did. I think that's very touching.

You can tell Terry would care for you.

And yet he's also such a darn sass ball with a huge set of B-Legs. :]x (Basketball legs. You know he's great at basketball with those legs.)

Very likeable guy. I don't know how else to say it.

Favorite moment Whenever he winks or whistles. That's cute.

Also that moment in Maximum Impact 2 where he's all tired with the big baddy Jivatma and says, "If you don't tell me what's going on, I'm not gonna stand around here, wait, and get bitch slapped."

I love the delivery. It's just borderline pouty. And cute.

Idea for a story I don't think I've had any big ideas with Terry in mind. They've mostly been very small, simple scenarios. Kind of fitting since he doesn't seem to enjoy being held down in a single spot. (Sorry.)

Unpopular opinion Terry still sounds nice even without the Engrish. I think his voice in Maximum Impact 2 sounds perfect-- despite the... voice direction. (People... pausesomuchinthatgamewhentheytalk.)

Favorite relationship Rather than talk about the specific relationship, I'm very intrigued by some interpretations of Terry choosing not to get close to others in fear of losing them (yeah I'm thinking about the Fatal Fury movies).

The way Mai brought it up once, about how he's meant to be alone, it made me feel very bad for him. You could argue it's just ~Teh Man Pain~ because he keeps losing the girl he grows close to, but I see this on top of the loss of his father; as well as the understanding that one day Rock-- the boy he's caring for-- may choose to follow his own blood, and he'll have to let him go.

Call me sappy or whatever, I like that Terry has such a big heart. But also ough, the emotions.

I was so ready to do this one, and it sat in my ask box for three whole days!! I can’t believe this, OUGH (hehe)

Aypierre is…surprisingly hard to pin down? He smells aldehydic, like cloth (wool?) from his sweater, like metal and wood and everything he builds from. To me hes even a bit… (the teensiest bit) salty and musky, like when people describe the smell of work or sweat/sex. Like a good cologne even? I also tossed around an idea of him smelling like his vineyard, and I think while that would be lovely, the scent of his machines would overpower that. So instead, to aid to all the other smells I have, maybe he’s more like a wine cellar?

So, I went on a DIG. I was niche brand hunting, and eventually even ended up downloading a whole social media site to look for perfumes(and naturally do a lot of translating, the entire site was in Russian). And I still can’t say I have the perfect perfume just for him that encapsulates him. That being said, I think I have one that is really close

With such a complex character, one who has been through so many changes, who experiences so many different things, sometimes one smell can’t encapsulate that, and that’s okay! My scent for him is Garage, by Wild Drops Parfums- it’s woody, it’s metallic, it’s hot, musky and fabricky, the epitome of tinkering and with a smidge of a fruity alcohol front. What an insane perfume, and not perfect 100% but still wonderful <3
