Marian sniffled, sapphire gaze pulling up to meet that of her fathers as tears continued to spill down her cheeks. ".... I-is mum gonna be mad?" she manages to wheeze, wiping at her face but only for a moment. The scarlet mark across the bridge of her nose still excruciatingly tender to the touch. "What if s-she doesn't let us go out anymore? How will I learn??"
He gently wiped her tears away, then set to spreading the balm over the angry mark across her face. "I will talk with your mother," he reassured. "She knows how important these lessons are, though she may fret over you more now." He cupped her face and smiled kindly. "Which is not such a terrible thing, hmm?"
