bachelorās button : does your muse actively seek romantic companionship , or cherish the liberties of being single ?
recently remy has realized heās gay, but has only shared this information with his confidante and closest brother emile. remy says he thinks this is meaningless, as he never really considered looking for a partner āchoosing instead to dedicate his life to cooking; and yet, his status as an outsider in his own community doesnāt help to his growing sense of loneliness. he would say that he enjoys being single, and just generally doesnāt give it a lot of thought; but sometimes, very rarely, remy does wish he had a partner that could love him and support him. still, he doesnāt really know what being in a romantic relationship would entail, and truly, the mere idea gets him more than a bit flustered.
carnation : Ā what is your museās relationship with their gender ? Ā how do they express or not express this relationship ? Ā
remy began his transition when he was fifteen, though he can attest that it was more for the sake of the otherās perception of him (to avoid constantly having to correcting othersā pronouns) and to alleviate his growing body dysmorphia. while he was pressured to stick to traditional feminine gender roles in his earlier childhood, he never felt comfortable in them, and mostly did whatever he felt like doing. he always found himself more comfortable among his maleĀ ācousinsā, which while at first thought it weird, quickly accepted him as one of them. his femaleĀ ācousinsā, on the other hand, did use to mock him quite a lot back then, which only pushed him further to seek the company of other boys. still, remy isnāt particularly bothered by his presentation: as far as others respect his pronouns and donāt annoy him with personal questions, heās quite happy with who he is and with the gender he currently has. it has to be said, however, that he knows very well that one of the reasons his nana was so encouraging for him to learn how to cook and provide for his family was because of who she thought he would grow into; the fact that she died before remy could put into words and tell her who he really was, and the question of whether or not she would have loved him enough to accept it, does nag at him from time to time.
oak : Ā who would your muse consider the strongest person they know ? Ā
without a doubt, it would have to be his father. as much as they argue, remy believes django to be the strongest person in the world, able to go through the hardest things a man can go through and still manage to be kind. that is saying something, really, since he does know a lot of people in his extended family: a lot of them went through separations, sickness, crisis and difficulties, but for remy, as much sympathy as he has for them, django is special specifically because, even though he had his own problems to take care of, he managed to find time to raise his sons and take good care of them, no matter how much they misbehaved. sometimes, when remy regrets the things he said to his father during their discussions, he thinks he doesnāt really deserve his fatherās patience at all, especially in comparison to emile, who has always seemed more like the perfect son their father had always wanted: strong, reliable, confident, but also loyal, obedient, and easy-going.
sage : Ā what is your museās legacy ? Ā what do they want to be remembered for Ā & Ā what might they actually be remembered for ?
everything remy wants is to have a legacy, a name for himself, the reputation that comes from doing that which he loves: cooking. heās desperate to be recognized and admired for his talent, to create cooking schools, encourage others to find the time to dedicate themselves to cooking a tasty meal, to pass their own knowledge and family recipes to their children; in short, to share his passion and enthusiasm for food with others, and be remembered for it.
he doesnāt know it yet, but the fact that he transitioned quite publicly in his family, and at a young age, showing others in his community just what the whole process entailed, and just how supportive, even despite the initial confusion, the whole family was, has other kids from the family questioning their own relationships with their gender; in a few generations, heās more than likely to be the reason a lot of other people in the clan feel confident enough to come out to their family, and fondly remembered for it.
š Ā : Ā Ā what kind of diet does my muse have? Ā do they eat regularly, Ā or the standard 2-3 meals a day? Ā do they have to be reminded to eat, Ā or are they likely to remind others? Ā do they cook, Ā or have others cook for them? Ā do they eat healthily, Ā or not so much? Ā
remy makes his very best to not skip a single meal. heās the one who most often than not reminds the rest of the family of the importance of a good breakfast, or of drinking enough water. he also tries to be home to cook all the meals, since neither django nor emile can so much cook anything more than plain white rice and boil some premade pasta. however, of course, this is greatly affected by the ingredients they can manage to get: fresh fruits and vegetables are hard to find in his neighbourhood, and spices, while more common, can be extremely expensive. most of the time, remy has to get by with canned food, basic ingredients like bread, rice, flour and pasta, and salt and pepper. still, he makes his very best to put a creative spin on these staples and have something more substantial and tasty than his fatherās trademark awful overboiled white rice with a runny egg on top.
