I donāt know ifĀ āblissā is the word Iād use, but I do imagine them living together and raising their children together and trying to make it work but goddamnit, Caramel, we are NOT having another kid, andĀ if you drunk dial Prelude one more time this relationship is OVER, YadiraĀ -- but they do love each other (and their kids) and make it work the best they can.
(That isnāt to say theyāre always fighting -- I imagine them having some very happy moments as a family, particularly with their kids! I like to think that despite not seeing quite eye-to-eye when it comes toĀ almost everything else, they are an intimidatingly unified force when it comes to their kidsā wellbeing.)
I also imagine the two of them terrifying all the other moms at PTA meetings and being aggressively invested in their kidsā hobbies and extracurriculars, so thereās that. (Yadira and Caramel are the intense parents on the sidelines of the soccer game yelling at the coaches and the other parents and making sure the kids are hydrated, Prelude is the Soccer Dad(TM) tailgating the kidsā soccer game with a cooler full of definitely-not-beer in the parking lot with an absurd amount of snacks in the back of his minivan hitting on all the single Soccer Moms(TM).)

Iām not sure what you mean by āan arc focused on why theyāre SO immortalā -- they just kind of... are? I donāt really have a reason for their immortality other than they, as daemons, just areĀ immortal.
I would absolutely love to sit down and hash out a nitty-gritty lore about daemon culture, life cycles, how they interact with humans (or why they donāt interact with humans), and all of that -- and I think this current plot arc with Forgotten Hollow is kind of the beginning stages of that.
I had some lore written out for previous iterations of the story -- back when daemons were called demons and angels were involved and humans were just trying to stay afloat in the middle of all this supernatural chaos going on around them -- but most of that is irrelevant now.
But I guess, to directly answer your question: Iād like to revisit it someday and ultimately develop it more, but I donāt have any plans for a plot arc thatās heavy on the mythos/lore of all of it.
This is probably an odd question, but have you ever thought of how things would have turned out in the story if certain events hadn't happened? Just any in general - big or small?
Hey! I donāt think itās an odd question at all -- this is actually something I think about a lot! Just the other day I was having a conversation along these lines with @pixiegarden. :)
Iām getting to explore a few of those small changes youāre talking about in the rewrite Iām working on -- the basic structure and the Big Events(TM) are there, but some little details are changing along the way, and itās interesting to see how dynamics are shifting just with a few minor tweaks.
There are so many things that could have changed and could have made big differences in the story, but a few of theĀ ākey pointsā for each generation and how I think they might have made things turn out a little differently are below the cut!
What if Taz hadnāt cheated on Gretta, or at least been honest about his affair with Adia and theyād been able to work things out?For one -- they would have raised Cadence together, and had Nocturne and Prelude a lot sooner. Taz and Gretta probably would have bought a house together, and Nick would have never been Tazās next door neighbor -- potentially meaning Cadence would never have kissed him (she probably wouldnāt have been bold enough to do it during a lesson in her own house, especiallyĀ with a younger brother and sister likely in the next room). And on the note of Cadence and Nick...
What if Cadence hadnāt kissed Nick in his apartment?Itās likely that Nick would never have known about Cadenceās crush. His reaction following the kiss suggests that he had feelings for Cadence before she kissed him -- but that he had never planned on acting on them. Itās possible that without the kiss, neither of them would have voiced their feelings, and their their mutual attraction would have eventually fizzled out, leading them to go their separate ways and both meet other people.
What if Sonata and Jacob hadnāt cheated on each other?Sonata sleeping with Buck, while a bad decision, was not necessarily a catalyst for anything other than the end of her relationship with Jacob (which, since he also cheated on her, still would likely have ended). Jacob and Adiās relationship, however, was arguably the start of the events that led to Adiās death -- Jacobās involvement with the Vice-Korolyov case and investigation of Avarice led to his murder, which in turn led to Adiās attempt to bring down her grandmotherās company and her death.Prior to Adiās involvement with Jacob, she had a close (albeit manipulative) relationship with her grandmother. Itās likely that without her relationship with Jacob, Adi would have continued to be a leading figure in Korolyov Industries.
What if Ellie hadnāt gone to that party with Flan?Well, probably the most obvious change -- she would never have gotten pregnant with Toccata. She would have finished high school with her brothers and likely would have started dating Nat much sooner, as he had been working up the courage to ask her out at the party -- they would have settled down and started a family sooner; but since Ellieās death wasnāt the result of anyoneās direct actions, she still would have left Nat a widower and single dad.The other side of Ellie going to the party is her involvement with Aidan. Since Toccata didnāt exist, he wouldnāt have attempted to pursue a relationship with his daughter. He may still have gotten a job with Korolyovs, and may still have had a relationship with Mina -- and that relationship is likely to have still been unhealthy -- but his aggressiveĀ insistence that Mina knew where Nat was hiding ToccataĀ is what led to her killing him (and then fleeing to Jeffersonās).
What if Fugue had handed everything over to the Vices to begin with?Faspen wouldnāt exist. Thatās it, thatās the most important thing that would have changed.

Does Toccata ever talk about her mom? Does she know about what happened with Aiden?
Iāve had this sitting in my inbox for a few days trying to decide if I wanted to answer it, or if I wanted to tie it into another (related) ask directed toward Toccata.
Toccata mentions her mom briefly here, while sheās talking to her brother. She only asks Fugue if he remembers Ellie, and doesnāt go into how much of what she remembers ā more on that when Toccata answers her question in a few days. ;)
As far as what happened with Aidan ā Iām assuming youāre talking about this. Toccata was only 9 when that happened, so Nat and her uncle wouldnāt have given her all of the nitty gritty (and gory) details of it ā and just would have assured her that she was safe, and wouldnāt have to worry about Aidan trying to take her away from her family ever again.
As she grew older, Toccata probably would have investigated on her own what exactly happened to Aidan to try to find out why, exactly, she didnāt have to worry any more and would have discovered that heād been murdered ā but I donāt imagine her learning that her Aunt Mina was his killer, since that detail was covered up by the Vices.
He does. I touched on it a little when a while back, Merrin/@a-moral-grey asked what story Dax gave about his parents when people asked, since heās a public figure. (The answer to that question is here.)
Even though he grew up calling Sonata and BuckĀ āMom and Dad,ā he always knew they were his aunt and uncle ā and that he was being raised by them because his parents were dead ā but the exact cause of his parentsā deaths (i.e., that Avarice Vice-Korolyov was directly responsible for both of their murders) was something that he learned a bit later.
Compared to Taz, how much age difference has there been between him and Pixie and Gretta and Adia
In the currentĀ timeline, out of Taz, Pixie, Gretta, and Adia:
Gretta is the oldest; sheās 24 when the story starts
Taz is about six months younger than Gretta
Pixie is about a year younger than Taz
Adia is about two years younger than Pixie
HOWEVERĀ -- with the beginning of MV having started as gameplay instead of story, the early parts were running on āsims timeā instead of a timeline that actually made sense. Iām working on fixing a few things with the timeline in the rewrite Iām working on; to give you an idea of a few changes:
Gretta is still the oldest; sheās 22 when the story starts
Taz is still about six months younger than Gretta
Adia is about one year younger than Taz
Pixie is about two months younger than Adia
Since the updated timeline is still a work in progress, all the birth/death dates on my character page are based on the original timeline -- but once I get everything figured out, thatāll be updated with the new info. :)
