Aber wie sehr haben uns diese Lieder zum Tanzen motiviert? Das wollten wir herausfinden.
Wir haben uns die 10 meist gehörten Lieder in Europa jeden Monat angeschaut, um sie auf ihre Tanzbarkeit zu testen. Auch wenn man vermuten könnte, dass das Level der Tanzbarkeit von der Geschwindigkeit abhängt, spielen andere Faktoren wie Taktstärke und Songtext auch eine Rolle, die uns dazu bringen, zu einem Lied zu tanzen.
Tanzbarkeit: Das Echo Nest definiert Tanzbarkeit als die Leichtigkeit mit der eine Personen zu einem Lied durchtanzen kann. Sie nutzen eine Mischung von Faktoren wie Taktstärke und Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit, um die Tanzbarkeit zu errechnen.

How “danceable” were 2014s top charting hits?
With everything from the slow tempo of Lorde’s ‘Royal’ or Coldplay’s ‘Magic’ to the high tempo of Sia’s ‘Chandelier’ or Pharrell’s ‘Happy,’ this year’s top hits have left us with our headphones on, excited to hear the next beat drop or our favourite chorus. But, how much have they kept us dancing? We wanted to find out.
Taking the top 10 tracks across Europe each month, we analysed their level of danceability across the year. Though you would think tempo was everything danceability is computed b looking at a range of factors -- beat strength, stability, lyrics – all things that keep you dancing all song long.
Danceability: The Echo Nest defines danceability as the ease with which a person could dance to a song, over the course of the whole song. They use a mix of features to compute danceability, including beat strength, tempo stability, overall tempo, and more.

Alors que vous pourriez penser que le tempo est le facteur déterminant d'une chanson, un hit entraînant est en réalité conduit par une série de facteurs tels que le beat, la force, la stabilité et les paroles.
La capacité de faire danser: Selon The Echo Nest, la capacité de faire danser est déterminée par la facilité pour une personne de danser tout au long de la chanson. Pour calculer ceci, The Echo Nest utilise un mix de facteurs spécifiques telles que la force du beat, la stabilité du tempo, le tempo général et bien d'autres choses.
