If you've participated in an on-the-spot drawing contest, then you know that dreaded uncomfortable waiting time while the judges are making their decisions which usually takes an hour long if you're lucky. So we had to come up with a relevant activity to keep the kids busy and learn more about the theme. Together with @arlipagaduan and @sumthinblue , we created our own star design as an example. The kids were then divided into 12 groups, with 3 kids each to work as a team in creating their own star design using oil pastels provided by Dong-A. Everyone is essentially creating the 12 stars of the flag of the EU, which actually represents unity, harmony and solidarity! (nd not the number of member countries as most people will think). So glad to take part in as judge (with @arlipagaduan) and representative of AngInK at the European Union Delegation to the Philippines’ “Europa, Kaibigan ko Ito” Art Contest held this afternoon at Museo Pambata. There were really outstanding pieces but all the entries showed each kid's creativity and effort in interpreting the contest's theme.
