❛ War is not for winning. ❜- Murkey wrote with a barely audible sigh before looking up to Saf. " Why do they need any of us? If its one fight after another. Men always coming, asking for those strong enough to join the cause. Its just bullshit." Murkey added looking annoyed almost angry in her normally happy eyes.

The Warlock dragged in a soft breath that lay in her throat as a quiet chuckle. Gone was the void elf’s practiced charm, no long forming soft lies or giving words one wanted to hear. “War is the state of life, lovely girl.” A hint of a condescending tone was delivered to Murkey. “People aren’t people unless they have something to fight for. Someone to fight for. Probably since the beginning of time, war was the way. Peace is...becoming animate stone, or returning this world to its ancient void state, where nothing has a mind to exist on its own merit. No one truly wants that, no? And so people will fight and conscript others to fight for or with them. There is always a reason, some tired, repetitive reason to risk the battle, for someone to claim their right to War. It is the state of life...maybe even death, until the end of time. Or when the universe gets tired of all of our shit and starts over somehow.”
Safrona rolled a shoulder into an impassive, unfeeling shrug. “The most you can hope for in your time is to choose what you get to fight for. At least until that right is inevitably taken from you too.”
