Having bad chronic pain the past few days (I've been kinda going through it lately TBH) so I'm probably not going to do a summary post for Murderbot episode 4 and will just post thoughts as I feel moved to do so. That being said, here is a thought I absolutely must post:
The Sanctuary Moon scene, Murderbot's hallucination/stress dream? When Jack McBrayer's character (I don't have the spoons to look up the name right now lol) talks to Murderbot and Murderbot can't remember what to do, McBrayer's character doesn't yell or chew out Murderbot, he just acts shocked/worried. (And then Murderbot asks another crew member for help with what it's supposed to do.) When Mensah gives Murderbot an order, it's practically falling over itself to say "yes Captain!" (and it's heckin' adorable)
Murderbot's fantasy is working with leaders who are kind and gentle and treat it like a member of a team instead of a piece of equipment. And I think this reflects both the new possibilities Murderbot sees in its shows as well as the new possibilities it has now become aware of from working with Dr. Mensah and Preservation Aux (remember last episode, "Who ever said I was part of the team?"). I also may be having an emotion about it.
