This structure, inaugurated in 1951, once formed part of the Lerma-Cutzamala water infrastructure system that supplied drinking water to the Valley of Mexico. Ricardo Rivas was the architect responsible for this piece of architecture built in a 'Classic Toltec' style, and the building also includes a Diego Rivera mural inside the actual water reservoir. Rivera also produced a sculpture outside called the Tlaloc Fountain. In the early 199Os, given the mural's deterioration and innovations in the city's water management, a decision was taken to re- route the water and renovate the reservoir, and in 2010 it was opened to the public with the inauguration of the permanent sound installation by artist Ariel Guzik. *Fuente: Arquine CDMX I recommend to visit on weekdays to appreciate the sounds of the installation #ThisIsMexico #Mexico #MexicoCity #México #cdmx #CárcamoDeDolores #DiegoRivera #Muralismo #Muralims #ArielGuzik #RicardoRivas #Chapultepec #TlalocFountain #FuenteDeTlaloc (en Carcamo de Dolores, Chapultepec)
