2. Do you remember your first episode?
I can't remember the exact first one I saw, but it was definitely one of the shorts that I casually stumbled upon on YouTube. I remember being confused because I didn't understand the format yet, so it seemed really disjointed at first. I didn't really "get" it until I watched several more episodes. Then I binged ALL of them.
I honestly don't even know if this is unpopular but I firmly HC that the states were kids once and existed as their European colonial territorial forms for however many years; they didn't just spring into existence when they became U.S. states. I think it gives them more backstory and more character, having them have that history, context, and life experience prior to being part of the U.S. I know there's no real "canon" but this seems to be supported in Ben's videos by the fact that Florida brings up being a territory multiple times AND "remembers" Juan Ponce, who died in 1521. Bro is terrifyingly old and I love that.
Admittedly the exact mechanics of it get a bit convoluted, especially when you try to pin down exact dates but honestly what's historical accuracy when you can have drama. ./s
I love the Table, but the Statehouse and Table History episodes still live rent-free in my head.
17. Headcanon that you will die for?
Besides what I said in #7...
Drag queen Nevada. In my mind, this is 100% canon.
