@munsonciety wanted a Christmas starter. ⛄
𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑾𝑰𝑵𝑫 𝑾𝑨𝑺 𝑩𝑰𝑻𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝑪𝑶𝑳𝑫 just outside their little home, flurries of white blanketing the ground and leaving the inhabitants of Hawkins snowed in for the holiday. It truly was his favorite time of year, though more often than not, in the early days of upbringing, they were often spent alone for the most part. Parents were often gone at holiday gatherings, leaving him to entertain himself in what few ways he knew how. Decorating the tree, holiday movies, baking whatever kind of sweets he wanted as Christmas music played over the static of the radio. Now things were different, now he had someone to celebrate it with. Eddie singlehandedly filling the void he never really let onto- finding home inside that empty place in his heart.
Why he didn’t care if it snowed, welcomed it in fact, the oven warming the kitchen and filling the space and leaving their home blanketed in a subtle scent of sweets. They could never choose just one thing, after all. A half made gingerbread house, popcorn popping on top of the stove, Steve gracefully moving around the space as Eddie made his movie snack. He on the other hand was determined to get the last batch of cookies in the oven before it started- the sound of commercials on the tv giving him just enough time to get it done if he was lucky. The sweet sticky cookie dough was tacky on his fingers, rolling it off the wooden spoon and dropping piece by piece, filling the baking sheet, but not hesitating to eat the leftovers straight out of the bowl. A pause was taken of course, eventually turning to face his lover, back pressed to the countertop as the spoon was brought to his lips to take another bite.
“How much of this do you think I could eat before I get sick? I’ve never actually known anyone who has gotten sick eating raw cookie dough, how bad could it really be?”
