The PSA wanted to test some lander systems the first mechine tested was the RainDrop. It's got its name from the shape of the lander.

Sadly the on field test was not concluant for deep space exploration. Upon landing the lander displayed very strange reading and some of it's scientific instrument ware not responding. After some pseculation, the reason was found, lander pieces were fond scattered around it's landing location. Picture from Aralgan probe showing a small crater near the lander. The theroy is that a meteorite has hit the lander. It has discourage this lander infavor for the other model, the CubeDrop
