For those high schoolers reading this:

First of all, hi! Thanks for reading this blog.

If you haven't already checked, then the topic synopses have been uploaded. Definitely read them, research them, and write awesome position papers that will stun the chairs (like me) with the detail of your ridiculous research.

If you're in a novice committee, then don't be afraid to ask your schoolmates, high school advisor, or chair about anything.

If you want to contact your chair, then check the email at the bottom of the committee page. We'll be diligent in our response.

Well, we're excited to meet you and show you what MUN is all about (despite what its name sounds like, it's not just about debate, debate, debate).

EXECUTIVE STAFF

We're looking for some executive staff to help out our various members of executive board and executive staff even. For example, if you like blogging, then we've got an assistant social media manager open. The message box is always open for your questions, though there's an application you'll definitely want to keep your eyes open for.

BruinMUN 2013

November 9-10, 2013

BruinMUN is the high school-level conference that we host on-campus at UCLA. It is one of the premier high school MUN conferences on the West Coast. In 2012, we attracted close to a thousand students; a record which we are looking forward to surpassing this year. This year, we are going to have twenty-one different committees, with interesting and engaging topics and dynamics! It will also feature two new novice committees: Novice UNICEF and Novice UNHRC (the latter of which Adrienne is extremely excited to chair!)

UCLA students: Staff applications will open Week 1, so be prepared once fall quarter rolls around!

High school students: Register for BruinMUN (opening soon) <a href="http://www.bruinmun.org/high-school-conference/">here</a>. Once you've registered, you can gain access to topic synopses and start preparing for what is going to be an undoubtably exciting and intriguing weekend.

LAMUN 2014

April 3-6, 2014

LAMUN is the collegiate conference we host at the Sheraton in downtown Los Angeles. LAMUN 2013 featured eight exciting and dynamic crisis committees ranging from zombie pandemics to World War II. We're excited to expand our horizons for LAMUN IX. Stay tuned for more details!

UCLA students: Tentatively, chair and crisis director applications will open at the end of fall quarter, while staff applications will open at the beginning of winter quarter.

We have definite plans to travel to four conferences, with a fifth tentatively scheduled at this time. Follow us for updates!

MUN@UCLA has a competitive tryout process for all the conferences. While that does sound intimidating, your flight and hotel are all paid for by the club so all you have to do is bring yourself, WBD, and your research. It's a sweet deal.

We host tryouts at least a month prior to the conference. Application links and updates will be posted here. Alternatively, you could come to meetings and have fun with us.
