I just wanna give another shoutout to mumblespash for just doing it All. Multispeccing into both comics AND animation? Too much power. We're all doomed and I can't wait
@mumblesplash !!!
I just felt it fit them 👀
20, 25, 35 for art asks?
Hi topsy :D 20. is your workspace, digital or not, organized (not neat, organized)? yessss it's pretty good.! I have had the fortune of getting monitors for free so i have 4 monitor settup (one of them being my display tablet, and one i bought myself) so I have two monitors for references, and one for videos/music. and i got my CSP setup on lock
almost all the tools i regularly use have obscure modifier hotkeys/keybinds that i set on this.. gamer.. keyboard.. thing..
I bought this because i was giving myself carpel tunnel raiding in ffxiv but its also pretty good for art hotkeys! I just have to assign some weird things -- like, "scroll up" is my gaussian blur ajsdjkfa I used to have a sticky note which shows what each button does but i can't find it.. Well, it's all muscle memory now. Modifier keys and keybinds make you so wicked fast at digital art. They are really worth putting the effort into setting up!
25. what size canvas/paper do you use?
pretty big.. Drawing at low resolution is so painful for me so i start at this and go larger as needed, and then when i'm all done I reduce it to the 1,000px - 1,500px range. This is in no way efficient but i cant bring myself to change.
35. if you had one piece of advice to give your younger artist self, what would it be?
Unfortunately, Getting Good™ really is just practice. Past me did not like this tip one bit. But its true. Also though, use references and do studies!!! it really does make for a world of difference!!! Ask game

i’ve got an even worse idea for the ship name you take out pieces of the middle of timothy and bernard and you get: mother
this is actually better, because we already KNOW bernard is into milfs. however, this would imply that either or both of them have an oedipus complex, evidence suggests that this may be tim drake himself, in this essay i will-
forgive me father for i have sinned, you only just set up this confessional last week so i don't think the time since my last confession is really on me. anyway i used to do this thing where if i was separately texting multiple people i'd see how long i could respond to all of them with the exact same messages and still have coherent conversations, i think my record is 3 conversations for 15 minutes
you are forgiven, my child, but also please understand that hobbies and sins are not synonyms.
you seem like you’ve got a knack for speculating and more tua knowledge than i do, so i was wondering if you’d know: do we have any canon evidence either supporting or disproving the idea that klaus can only see the ghosts of people whose deaths were orchestrated by the commission? i would be a bit shocked if this was an actual plot point in the show (haven’t seen the comics) but it seems like this would have some interesting implications, unless i simply happen to be stupid
I genuinely fell more into speculating than it is something I set out to do, I’m honestly more comfortable analysing and interpreting the existing text, and so, for your question. This theory is not hinted at in the comics at all, and I don’t think there’s enough evidence in the show to definitely say that the ghosts Klaus sees were all killed by the Commission, and from the sheer amount of ghosts that he encounters in many different places, I would say it’s unlikely, mostly because it implies that the Commission has their hands in too much history, and also that they orchestrated Ben’s and Dave’s deaths, among others.
There is one instance where it is confirmed that all the ghosts he’s seeing are in fact Commission victims, which are all the people Hazel and Cha-Cha killed. But there are more: the mausoleum ghosts, implied to be the people buried in that crypt, the ghosts of the cowboys that Klaus mentions are all over Texas, the dead army men he sends towards the Soviet soldiers in the S2E1 cold open, and, of course, Dave and Ben. While there are probably arguments and theories that could be made of the Commission orchestrating the deaths of Dave and Ben, the first to get Klaus back to 2019, the second to push the Umbrella Academy towards further decline and in-fighting so they can never truly team up to stop the 2019 apocalypse, I think it would be reaching to say that the Commission had interests in killing cowboys all over Texas, or an entire battalion of non-descriptive soldiers, or subsequent generations of the presumable family that’s buried in that crypt. It just seems a bit reaching to say that the Commission would care about the lives of these people. It’s not completely out of the question, we don’t know what the deaths of these people changed, but I don’t think that that’s really it.
Moreover, this theory implies that Klaus’ supernatural and/or alien powers are somehow tied to this Earth-based organisation, which I just don’t think is the case. How could his summoning of the ghosts of dead people have a little asterisk that says ‘but only if this organisation ordered them to die’? It would imply that the Commission somehow interfered or tinkered with his powers, because his weird hybrid biology definitely did not have that locked in, which opens a whole other speculative can of worms that has no basis in the show canon. So, I’d say that on the basis of what we know of Klaus’ powers in the show, it’s unlikely that Klaus can only see the victims of the Commission.
