I don’t have a lot of thoughts on Subhadra, and @avani008 has already written these headcanons on her.
Shatrughna
realistic: He finds Shrutakirthi quite irritating in the early years of their marriage; she’s a sweet thing, yes, but she has always been the youngest and least beholden to responsibility, unlike Shatrughna who was raised as rigorously as any of his brothers. It is only after his father’s death, when the rest of their siblings are either in exile, sleeping, or at Nandigram, and they are the only ones left to take care of their mothers, that he sees her true strength come out, and that he truly respects her.
while it may not be realistic it is hilarious: Shatrughna is constantly attempting to rein Lakshmana in, and proves himself a royal hypocrite when he beats Manthara half to death.
heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends: He never quite recovers from the knowledge that Lakshmana was prepared to kill him -- not just Bharata, but him, Shatrughna, his full brother, with whom he shared his mother’s womb for nine months.
unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own: His brothers call him “Shatru” as a nickname which he hates to no end because it means “enemy”.
