Two days ago, Swedish weekly Flamman published an article about the fact that one of Mullvad VPN's two founders/owners donated 5 million SEK to populist right wing Örebropartiet, a local party pushing a "repatriation" agenda, amongst other things. The donation by Daniel Berntsson is 70%+ of their finances for this year. In the interview, Berntsson explicitly expressed his support for an anti immigration policy.

Party leader Markus Allard is well known for being a "disruptor", frequently insulting other local politicians in session with wording like "fucking coward", but also calling immigrants "parasites". He often attacks public service, foreign aid and such. Örebropartiet also pushes truly popular agendas such as free dental care. They started as a populist party with ideas both from the left and right, but have lately been focusing on an ethno nationalist agenda. Pundits who say they are just as much left as right are completely deluded.

I've been a staunch supporter and user of MullvadVPN for years now, but I will no longer directly feed a person with that agenda. I know how shit VPN owners in general are, and Mullvad seemed like an exception. As a service they are still the best in my opinion, but if 50% of their earnings go to a fucknut, I'm out.
