personally I don't think it really matters as long as it's not, like, mid-sentence? I've read things with changes at scene breaks or chapter breaks and even things that are semi-omniscient and they were all fine!
Aah that is reassuring... maybe I just need to see how it works out? I feel like it will be less unsettling if it was in a separate chapter but I’m writing this as one continuous thing so I don’t know that I like the idea of splitting it up. :P

my advice would be that if you keep it in one chapter without scene breaks then just establish it as a omniscient perspective and there should be not problem! :) that's what I'm doing in my most recent fic i've been working on
tbh omniscient perspective bothers me when I’m reading...and I’ve never tried writing it before. hmm. I guess ultimately whether I need another chapter or just put it all in one part depends how long the second pov part winds up being!
considering I haven’t even got to the bit that is the whole reason I’m writing this thing, it’s going to be a while, haha
