Im not a public speaker, getting me to do a presentation at University filled me with extreme anxiety, the shakes and no amount of foundation would keep my rosy red cheeks at bay. However...that all changed when I managed to stand in front of 15 students to teach them how to do a full head cast. It is amazing how your confidence can be lifted when talking about something you love.
I went through the health and safety and really drilled that home, applied the bald cap, and cast the head. Teaching at the college where I started out 5 years ago really hit home how important it is to go to a Make-up School where you feel nurtured but also where you make life long connections with your tutors and peers.
Craven College has high aspirations, lead by the ever amazing Natasha Jordan, she is an MUA with heaps of experience and more importantly- passion. She LOVES learning and doing the headcast with her was an absolute joy. She has transformed the college into a working Make-up, Hair and Prosthetics Studio that rivals many of the other colleges up north. With its wonderful students, excellent facilities and a head of department like Natasha there is nothing the students of Craven can’t achieve.
Teaching truly does fulfill you and who’da thought little old me could teach a headcast? And do you know what..it came out pretty well too.
