CHEERS TO SUNDAY BRUNCH & BLOODY MARYS! I'm still dreaming of the fantastic brunch at @1921nva - Chef Norman Van Aken's "homage to Florida" restaurant in Mt. Dora FL is worth the drive! . . Sitting in the covered outdoor porch, enjoying the warm breeze, fun music and a killer Bloody Mary platter was a great way to spend the morning. Spiced just-right Bloody Mary blend comes in a blue carafe, accompanied by house-cured bacon, pickled veggies, blue cheese stuffed olives and a sharp cheese for you to adorn your meal-in-a-glass as you choose. I added it all! It was a "Go big or go home" moment! . . The Shrimp & Grits, Sausage Hash and Chicken & Waffle dishes that came after were all winners! The restaurant is filled with @modernismmuseum art, yet it's relaxed and comfortable. Our server / bartender Chelsea was attentive and very knowledgeable. When I asked her for a hybrid dessert, coffee and cocktail all in one to end our meal, she came back with such a gorgeous concoction that sparked envy in everyone around us (who then promptly said "I'll have what she's having!"). You have to see it! (A full recap is coming to the blog) . . Make the drive and spend the day in the charming town of Mt. Dora, about 34 miles from Orlando.
