Photography Styling Hair · Me Glencoe-Auburn row apartments was constructed between 1884 and 1891 by Jethrow Mitchell. The site was given the nickname “Little Bethlehem” as it resided within the shadow of Christ Hospital. But by the 1960s, Glencoe-Auburn had become predominately lower-income and was referred to as “The Hole,” owing to its location, positioned in a deep valley and along a steep incline. Glencoe-Auburn was abandoned in the early 2000's. Still, I would drive past it, and through it taking in the energy that was still very much alive even with the many broken windows and the boarded up doors. I would get these feelings sometimes that would tell me to act fast and photograph it all because this place will be gone soon. I followed my gut and sure enough right after I shot these photos the Glencoe-Auburn apartments were razed, the land flattened.
