In general, the fall foliage did not exactly cooperate with my expectations, so I think I’ll have to go back. I think now I can say I went to Harvard, right? Cambridge was cute and collegiate—similar to Walla Walla. // Rory Gilmore would have you believe that you can walk into any building and join a class. This is not true. This balcony is where the Declaration of Independence was first read. The Boston Massacre occurred just below it. Tombstones abound in Boston. Many famous names from the revolution can be found here—if you can still read them on the wind-worn stone. This particular headstone intrigued me because the sign said the woman was the inspiration for Mother Goose. A peek at Boston’s skyline from the Common. The other thing that I loved about Boston Commons was how it helped me to orient myself. This was our first stop after arriving in the city and it was an excellent landmark to help us navigate. Despite being quite obviously Revere’s town, this tri-cornered hat wearing, horse-riding, founding father in the middle of Boston Common is George Washington.
