I finally was able to visit some bristlecone pines while visiting Colorado! These trees are absolutely magnificent, and one of my favorite species on the planet. They can live to be over 2,000 years old, and the oldest ever recorded was over 5,000 years old. These particular trees sit around 12,000 feet in elevation. I love the way the bark spirals around, creating unique patterns in the wood. I've always wanted to see bristlecones in person, and I'm so grateful that I had the opportunity to do so!
