Statement

For this last project I decided to do a digital drawing of something that I enjoy drawing--it is pretty much it. I love drawing wings and nature, they seem so unrestricted from this world and free. I think I thought of this work mainly because I have been stuck at home for most of the semester, as many others have. But today not only marks the end of one of the hardest semesters for me personally, but also the day I got my final vaccine shot! I feel free from a lot of doubt and worry, and this in a way represents that. Despite me being ready to, what seems like, start over, I will dearly miss this class. There are so many amazing artists that I immensely enjoyed seeing their work, this class has so many great creatives! I'm thankful that this is our last assignment, its a real treat to create with no limitations-- like we are really free!

Stages of Love

This project got me very excited. So much so that i decided to change everything at the last minute. I'm glad I did, however, it turned into something that I enjoyed. I went with love, seeing that this is February it seemed appropriate.

I love the aesthetic of this one. I think that it transends time and space with how its looped, as it continues forever unchanged.

The artist that made this one works in short GIFs and vidoes when he draws his works, and is a great example of artists that still work in GIFs.

I feel as though GIFs give us the opportunity to change things as we change as well. this updaded, meme-y Girl with the Pearl Earring is a good example of that. I love the reaction in this one.

Reactions are one of the most popular ways that GIFs are used, and I think this one illustrates that. it also shows the freedom and creativity that people have, that may not even be artists.

I love the smooth transfomation in this one, and how easily they made it to distinguish the differnt vehicles.

This one is continuous and mesmerizing, and reminds of of something that might be in a GIF gallery.

I like this one because that a GIF has multiple ways of showing time. This one is in real time.

continuing from the reasoning above, this one speeds up time, seeing a flower bloom, and without the hassle of clicking play a lot of the time.

This one shows such great, fluid movement as well as satisfying colors and aesthetic, I could watch it go for a while.

Love comes in many forms and stages, some sweet and rose tinted, others bitter and hurtful. This series is meant to showcase some of the differences in how one can feel about love or feel while they are in love. It tells of passion and how it correlates with anger, both intense feelings with a thin line between them. How one might be bewitched by love and fail to see warnings through rose-tinted glasses, or how the heart may beat like the throbbing of an engine.

When I was younger the neighborhood that i grew up in barely had five houses. All types of wild life would find its way into our yard, and catching insects was something me and my sisters did often. as the years went by and the area become more developed, the animals would stop by less and less. it is now hard to find even a bumblebee in our yard.

this is what it feels like to me as more forests fall and animals are spread wide. each image has a flora in it to show that it is in the woods, and the animals and insects are erased to leave a silent image.
