Could you do something with Mark Scheifele fluff 31 and 41 please?
31. “You snuck into my room, at 4am…to cuddle?”
41. “I love you. You enormously stubborn pain in the ass.”
Warning: Mentions of people from passing away from a car accident
I woke up as I hear something in my apartment, it was probably just my sister coming in from a night out on the town. She was enjoying her spring break and staying with me for the week, enjoying a week of no work and no responsibility. I however had work in the morning and another 12 hour shift between me and three days off. In my half asleep state I didn’t even question my bedroom door opening, or the bed dipping behind me until I felt arms wrap around my torso.
Rolling over my eyes saw the sleepy smile of Mark, my boyfriend of 6 months. “What are you doing here?”
“I missed you and I wanted to cuddle.”
“You drove across the city and snuck into my room, at 4 am… to cuddle.” I rolled my eyes at his ridiculousness, but he was always like this. He was always wanted to cuddle up and spend the night in since I was usually tired from long shifts at the hospital.
“And I was hoping I could meet your sister.”
“I have to be at work in like two hours. I don’t think the way to introduce you to my sister is for her to find you in your boxers eating cereal when she comes out of her room in the morning. I also don’t know why you are so hung up on meeting her.”
“Because she is your only family and I’m going to have to meet her at some point, so why not now?” I smiled at his reference to us being together for a long time, every time he brought it up I made me smile more. “I’m not going anywhere any time soon, you’ve already met my family so I would like to meet yours. Even if it is only one person. I know you guys are really close even though she goes to school in Toronto. Please, you know I will keep bugging you about it until you say yes.”
“I love you. You enormously stubborn pain in the ass.”
“I can't be late to work and there is no way she is going to be awake before then.”
“I can meet her by myself. Just let her know I'm in the apartment do she doesn't call the cops.” I roll my eyes before turning over to grab my phone.
“Thank you Mia.” Mark kissed my shoulder as I typed out the text.
Mia: Mark really wants to meet you. He is in the apartment and wanted to make sure that you don’t call the cops for someone else being in the apartment. I get off work at 6, I should be home by 6:30. We can all get dinner together if you guys want.
Shutting off my phone I enjoy my last few minutes of bed before my alarm went off, groaning when my phone alarm went off. “I don’t want you to get up, skip work.”
“I would love to but I already have the next three days off so I need to go in today. I’m gonna go shower, get some sleep.” Sliding out of bed, I went to get ready for work. When I came back out in my scrubs Mark was hugging my pillow in bed with his eyes barely open. “Behave around my sister, no causing trouble.”
“Sure you are, your halo is just held up with horns sometimes. I have to go now, I love you.”
“Love you.” I made coffee and breakfast quickly before heading off to work. I worried every chance I got about how things were going between my sister and boyfriend. They were the two most important people in my life and I wasn’t sure what would happen if they didn’t get along. When my parents passed away in a car accident a few years ago my sister and I became even closer, we were all the other person had. So even now that she was going to college so far away we spoke almost every day. When I had first started dating Mark after his team came to visit children at the hospital, my sister Morgan had been so excited for me and couldn’t wait to meet him. So I was really hoping that everything was going well at my apartment.
The emergency department that I worked in was so busy today that I never got a chance to check my phone to see if I had any messages from either of them. I finished up my shift, hurried out as soon as I could. I was anxious to get home and see how they were getting along. Of course my drive home took forever, traffic was ridiculous and it took me twice as long as normal to get home.
My feet were dragging as I walked to my apartment, I heard music as I opened the door so I was taking that as a good sign. I kicked off my shoes as soon as I got in the door, listening to laughter coming from the kitchen. “You’re home! Is traffic bad?” Mark asked as he came over to hug me and kiss my cheek.
“Yeah, some idiot was driving like half the speed limit with his blinkers on. And work was crazy today so I am exhausted.”
“Then it is a good thing we decided to cook dinner in, figured we could go out on a day that you don’t have to work a 12 hour shift.” Morgan said as she stirred something on the stove. “Go change into something comfy, dinner is almost ready.” Nodding I moved to my bedroom and started to change when Mark stepped into the room behind me.
“Good. I think it went well, she is good at telling me what to do for dinner. She is a good kid, you did a good job with her.” Mark kissed me right after I had changed shirts, our kiss was cut short by my sister calling us out for dinner. “Morgan is great, she loves you a lot.” I didn’t know what to say so I quickly finished changing and we went back out.
Dinner was great and I got to listen to what the two most important people in my life did today. “Mark took me skating today, I only fell a dozen time.”
“That is actually an improvement to last time we went skating.” Morgan laughed while Mark just shook his head.
“I don’t understand how both of you are such a disaster on the ice, I didn’t think it was possible to be that bad but you two have proved me wrong.” My sister and I both shrug, laughed at Mark as he rolled his eyes. “I got you guys tickets for the game tomorrow. I thought we could get dinner after the game.”
“That sounds great. Thanks Mark.” The rest of the night was spent with my two favorite people who got along great, my little family had grown and I couldn’t be happier.
