Had a great weekend visiting Ms. 6. We toured her school, spent some time at her BF’s apartment, walked along the shore of Lake Superior, took the kids to a playground, and enjoyed a meal together.
Parenting is a wild ride. We will see her again next month when we travel to Mexico together.

Quick Ms. 6 update. It was her adoption anniversary yesterday. She’s home from college this weekend and we went out for ice cream today as a family. Who knew this is where we would be 18 months ago? A year ago? Five years ago. It has been a wild ride with more twists and turns to go, I’m sure.
Ms. 6 got her learner’s permit today. 😱 Can you believe we are at this point? My first foster placement in 2006, and she only stayed a few months. Here we are almost exactly 15 years later and she’s our daughter about to start driving!
I would report her to whoever you can! Invasion of privacy for your whole family and especially Ms 6.
After sending the email to my best friend who also has a longtime career in HR, she advised me to simply ask for an investigation. That made the most sense to me. I picked up the phone today and called the director of Health and Human Services. Her assistant answered and took all of my information. The director called me back this afternoon. She was kind and understanding and polite. She apologized for what happened, asked me to send her my email so she had my concerns in writing, and then said she would speak with people on Monday and personally call me back.
In some ways I wish I would have talked to her a month ago instead of the case worker’s supervisor. Seems like action would have been taken then instead of now.
We got our professional photos back from Ms. 6’s adoption. I’ll post some more eventually, but this is one of my favorites. Doesn’t Ms. 6 look like she’s thinking. “What have I gotten myself into with these people?”

Discharge Date
Oh my goodness, Fumblrs, we have a discharge date for Ms. 6!!!!!! She’s coming home in two weeks!!!!
Ms. 6 started riding lessons this week.

Oh my! I already heard back from the person I emailed. She is taking on a new position on Monday, and said she will look into the case then!!! How amazing is that?! Still a long ways to go but at least someone with power is actively seeking the current course of action for this kiddo. This is the first time I've felt slightly hopeful about us getting contact with Ms. 6 in a long time! Please continue to pray for us. 💗
