The most boring thing about having Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is having to say, âthank youâ hundreds of times a day.
I canât get by without the help and support of other people and I am so grateful to them. I wouldnât be able to work or easily collect my children from school without it but sometimes saying the word, âthank youâ gets on my nerves and I long to be able to say something else!
I mix it up a bit for my own amusement and say, âthanksâ or âcheersâ when people hold the door open for me or help get my mobility scooter out of the car. I sometimes even say, ânice oneâ or, âawesomeâ instead but I wonder what people would think if I said something random like, âsausagesâ instead just to make it more interesting!
âSorryâ or âexcuse meâ are other ones Iâm getting tired of saying. Maybe I should swap that for, âbananasâ instead just to keep me from going crazy with boredom!
Iâm sure Iâd get lots of strange looks so for now Iâll have to stick to saying, âthank youâ and âsorryâ and pretend to say other things in my head! Iâd hate to sound ungrateful too because Iâm not.
Anyway, rant over, sausages for listening!
