School's out for summer, kids! Today is the last day of the school year. Kids in elementary school have a carnival set up for when the day is done! Kids who are in junior and senior high have certificates to go play and have fun at the Fun Spot if they're up for it. And everyone… is done for a few months! But don't get too comfortable. School starts up again in Merrock on August 31st this year. Get ready!

Kindergarten graduation will happen at 3PM on Friday, with high school graduation taking place at the football field at 7PM.

Looking for a sweet treat? It's Donut Day! Bakeries and shops are encouraged to do specials for school aged kids (pre-K through 12th grade) on their last day of school -- maybe buy one, get one free, or if you have the ability, just give 'em a free donut to enjoy! After all, if they made it through the school year, they deserve something good!

Today, we celebrate Memorial Day, and keep the memories of those who served our country alive. Anyone who is available and willing is invited to come out to Pinecrest Cemetery to help with cleaning off and cleaning up the gravesites of veterans who have passed, or anyone that you might have lost in your life that you want to hold on to good memories of.

If you're out at the farmer's market today, stop by the local Apiary stand and get a bottle of organic honey! It's made by local farmers in town who have bee hives and love to share what they harvest. Good opportunity to give back! Once you're done, head up to Lavender Lane, where you can pick up some flowers that are great for honey bees! Plant them in and around your property, or in public places in town (we won't tell) to help save the bees.
