I’m compiling hcs about Bebe, Jimmy and Nichole’s parents and as I was writing I got stumped and yeah 😅🤣🤣

The headcanon was mostly just born from me wanting Mrs. Stevens to be more interesting. It's unknown what either of Bebe's parents do for a living, or even if they're employed at all. I figured somebody has to be the breadwinner in that family; and since Mr. Stevens seems to enjoy traditionally feminine things like cooking and washing dishes, I thought it would be nice if his wife was the one providing.

The part about her being a linguist kinda spawned from another theory I made up about how Bebe got her name. I like to think that both Mr. and Mrs. Stevens were really uncreative and simply referred to their unborn child as Baby for a long time. They were going to name it that, but Mrs. Stevens changed her mind at the last second and put Bebe on her kid's birth certificate. She chose the french word for "baby" because she thinks it is a beautiful language and hopes that this will give her a beautiful daughter. Bebe the baby. Plus she can't do math very well, and I thought it would be interesting if she was a savant instead of just an all around airhead.

Other headcanons I have:

-Her full name is Barbara Stevens.

-She and Mr. Stevens met in high school. They helped each other out with their homework and practically lived together until they got married.

-Her hair is naturally curly like Bebe's, she just uses a lot of product to make it seem otherwise.

-Relating to my genderfluid Bebe headcanon, I think that if Bebe ever told her any of this then Barbara would respond with some variation of "No matter what happens me and your dad will always love you, so you should try to love yourself too".

-Barbara and Mrs. Knitts may or may not be sisters.

-Mr. Stevens is the catholic in their family; Barbara doesn't go to church. After a while Bebe stopped going as well. Bebe still sometimes attends worship service for christmas and easter and that's it.

“Wantri Kastivrel” Sigi grinned as they spoke on their father’s phone. Their dramatic turn of the chair was a bit less dramatic due to the fact they’d been spinning in it for fun all day while waiting this call back. “To what do I owe this honor?”

Nodding with the casual “uh huh” and “of course”, they listened to the deal. It was a stroke of luck their father’s old client was such a long-lived being. Feeding off of explosives could do that, they supposed. 

The giant, explosive-eating golems were constantly in need of more satisfying food, but they rarely trusted others to deliver such dangerous packages. Apparently Mr. Stevens had put in enough of a good word for Sigi that they were granted such an honor. 

They ended the call with a bright smile which dulled to a saddened contentment. Looking around the dusty office in the house they technically owned now, they heard the stories their father told them drift from the walls with a nostalgic sadness.

You see, Sigrun, Wantri’s people only wish to survive. They are to whom many turn when they need to dispose of weapons, and sadly to whom some turn to when they wish to steal weapons.  A long time ago, I was chosen to pilot a spacecraft to drop off unnecessary nukes into a black hole, only to find it wasn’t a black hole, but a wormhole! Imagine my surprise when I end up on a planet of rock monsters who want to pay me to eat my cargo! And others were showing up the same way! Dropping off even larger, more dangerous things!  Long before these new fancy portal guns, you aimed at what you hoped was a wormhole and went. It was chaos, we lost many friends, we dealt with the corrupt, the cruel, the downright evil to feed Wantri. And then we began accepting more delivery requests until the first interdimensional black market came into being. I took charge eventually, mapping out routes and negotiating deals... Someone called it Snail Mail and the others found it so funny the name stuck.

One day, I’ll let you take over what’s left, Sigi. But you can’t make a bad name for yourself in the meantime. Wait until you’re 21... no, 22 just to be safe.

Tears hit the floor, a strange mixture of thankfulness and grief entrapping their heart. They fought it off with a grin, looking to the ceiling.
