Hi !!! I’m curious about your hcs for mrs stevens and I’m wondering where you got the hc of her working with dictionaries (I think??) It intrigued me lol.
I’m compiling hcs about Bebe, Jimmy and Nichole’s parents and as I was writing I got stumped and yeah 😅🤣🤣
The headcanon was mostly just born from me wanting Mrs. Stevens to be more interesting. It's unknown what either of Bebe's parents do for a living, or even if they're employed at all. I figured somebody has to be the breadwinner in that family; and since Mr. Stevens seems to enjoy traditionally feminine things like cooking and washing dishes, I thought it would be nice if his wife was the one providing.
The part about her being a linguist kinda spawned from another theory I made up about how Bebe got her name. I like to think that both Mr. and Mrs. Stevens were really uncreative and simply referred to their unborn child as Baby for a long time. They were going to name it that, but Mrs. Stevens changed her mind at the last second and put Bebe on her kid's birth certificate. She chose the french word for "baby" because she thinks it is a beautiful language and hopes that this will give her a beautiful daughter. Bebe the baby. Plus she can't do math very well, and I thought it would be interesting if she was a savant instead of just an all around airhead.
Other headcanons I have:
-Her full name is Barbara Stevens.
-She and Mr. Stevens met in high school. They helped each other out with their homework and practically lived together until they got married.
-Her hair is naturally curly like Bebe's, she just uses a lot of product to make it seem otherwise.
-Relating to my genderfluid Bebe headcanon, I think that if Bebe ever told her any of this then Barbara would respond with some variation of "No matter what happens me and your dad will always love you, so you should try to love yourself too".
-Barbara and Mrs. Knitts may or may not be sisters.
-Mr. Stevens is the catholic in their family; Barbara doesn't go to church. After a while Bebe stopped going as well. Bebe still sometimes attends worship service for christmas and easter and that's it.
-Bebe used to sneak alcohol out of her parents' liquor cabinet up until Barbara let her have a sip of her cocktail in middle school. After that point drinking didn't have any appeal to Bebe until she turned 21. She still kept abusing cough syrup in the bathroom with her friends all throughout her school years though

ABOUT:
Cora is the personality that Cory assumes when he dresses up as a woman. He initially intended to don drag so he could to research for his school article called "Chick Like Me" (based on John Howard Griffin's "Black Like Me"), but he was too ugly so Shawn was forced to do it, becoming Veronica Wasboyski.
Mrs. Stevens attempts to sell Cory a small, 2 bedroom house (with nook) to Cory, even though he can't afford it. Topanga gets upset with her for talking to Cory, because he is obviously a gullible dope. Even so, Mrs. Stevens' odd mannerisms and chipper attitude convince the newlyweds that they can indeed afford it, so long as Cory's parents sign a piece of paper. The Matthews refuse, though, because the plan essentially puts them responsible if Cory and Topanga cannot make their payments.
