It was a lovely snowy day, and Yoongi was out walking the dogs, as he usually tried to on a daily basis. Storm required a lot more exercise than Christie and Lucy, so when he took all three out and about, it was easier to go to the park and let them run around as they liked; the two smaller ones usually sticking close to his side while Storm ran around and burned off some of her inexhaustible puppy energy. 

However, suddenly, the two lap dogs took off after Storm, who seemed to be running over to someone on the other side of the park. That was odd, because Storm knew better than to bother people when she was off leash. “Storm! Lucy! Christie!” But nope, they just kept going and he had to jog after them, hoping that whoever they were going to see didn’t mind dogs too much.

Diana had been planning on wallowing at home all evening, eating cookie dough ice cream directly from the container and maybe watching Bring It On or some other teen comedy she had grown up with-- she had been in no mood to do any celebrating after yet another rejection from her mom. But apparently Jimin had other plans, and she had really only accepted his offer because she would not put it past him to show up at her door and try to convince her to go out in person.

“Come on, please? It’s only fair since you set me on fire before without asking!”

Like he was a child again, Jimin had tracked down the god of fire and asked him to light him up again. It had been strange and confusing and a little bit scary the first time when he hadn’t known what was going on, but now Jimin wanted to play with the fire on purpose. Only thing was, Tohil didn’t seem inclined to set him alight upon request. But Jimin was determined to sway him.

“What if I trade you something? Like some sweets from my shop? Or I can do something for you?

The fox boy couldn’t tell exactly what it was, but feeling the fire on his body had been like a light switched on in his body. Maybe it was some sort of latent power from his father/mother. He wanted to access that part of himself again, but he didn’t know any other way than this.

tohil’s previously light and amused expression slowly shifts to a more neutral and serious one as the boy speaks of trading him something in return. his gaze takes in the japanese demigod, gauging whether or not this boy may be trusted with such promises or not. eventually, after a long moment of silence, he hums lightly and shrugs his shoulders.

“i have no interest in one of the sweets from your shop, i can buy them easily with money which i have plenty of. what you wish of me can’t be bought with money, so it’s only fair you offer me something in return that also can’t be bought with money.”

“Uh, no?”

Having passed by the pet shop known as Stop&Paws on his way home, Jimin couldn’t help but go in and look at all the cute animals. Small critters batted at his tail as it swished by them. The demigod could only smile at their playfulness. He wanted desperately to hold them all, to play with them all and feel their soft fur and wet noses under his gentle fingertips.

So far he had managed to sneak a single kitten out of its cage, and was caught in the process of trying to wriggle it into a tiny little kitten onesie. It was too adorable not to try, but Jimin hadn’t thought the staff would let him do it. Thank goodness he didn’t need to ask permission if they didn’t know what he was up to.

Unfortunately, he had been caught. He couldn’t tell if his discoverer was an employee or not, merely that he was older than Jimin himself and looked to be some mixture of amused and bemused at Jimin and his tiny well-dressed cat friend.

“Am I in trouble?”

He often frequents the Stop&Paws, mostly because the dogs that haven’t yet been taken in by people tend to be lonely little creatures some of which could use some company and reassurance. His presence always tends to relax all of the canines present, and he makes sure to take special care in speaking to the more frightened or rather aggressive ones, giving them words of advice or comfort as he deems necessary.

What he doesn’t often come across is the sight in front of him currently, of the demigod holding the kitten in his hands while trying to get some sort of ... cat ... onesie? around the poor little creature’s frame. The question was past his lips before he could properly think it over, though, but it’s alright like that in the way that at least he hasn’t given away too much of his emotions along with it.

The question that is asked of him in return causes him to huff out a smile, eyebrows raising ever so slightly at the young man. “That depends,” he responds calmly, as his eyes flicker over the demigod’s fox ears before going back down to the kitten in question.

If there was one good thing that had come out of moving to Mount Phoenix, it was that the island was breathtaking. The beach was picturesque, the mountains were sublime-- it was like a romantic writer’s paradise. So, naturally, she was feeling highly inspired. Not that she was really a poet (she much preferred prose), but the fantastic landscape still stirred her creativity in ways that were new and exciting. 

So, the second her shift ended at Mukashi-Kara, she bid her bosses a quiet goodbye and headed straight for the beach. The moon was full, white and luminous, and she wanted to see how it danced on the tide. As soon as she arrived on the shore, she found a rock to perch herself on and took out her notebook, continuing work on a short story she had started the previous day. It was a little chilly, so she told herself not to stay too long, but the silvery view was well worth a few shivers.

it’s not often that tohil walks the streets and comes across a sight so aesthetically pleasing that it stops him mid-step and makes him turn interested, focused eyes upon it. this particular day the sight is not as much a thing made of nature as it is a person. a very unfamiliar person with a set of features that almost instantly captures his attention and causes him to abandon thought of whatever else he was intending to do.

he barely hears the few comments of people surprised by his sudden stop and merely follows the young man as he passes by, turning himself around entirely to be able to keep his eyes on the person even as he passes by. and then, about the moment when the young man is almost right in front of him, he sets the pleasing features afire.

foxes are one of his favourite animal species, especially red foxes, their fur often taking on a similar hue to that of his very own element. aside from their colour, the little animals are also more intelligent than many a breathing human, but honesty dictates that he admits it’s mostly their colour he likes them for.

just the same is it with this blond haired young man, who has the same fox ears sticking up from his head and a soft, fluffy fox tail swishing behind him. the urge to compare the unusual bodyparts to his element is too big, so it’s no surprise that within moments the flames dance brightly around both ears and tail, trailing over the fur without harming them for a moment.

Diana looked up from wiping down the counter when she heard her name, an eyebrow raising as she caught the look on Jimin’s face. She had the distinct feeling that she was about to be asked to do something unpleasant, based on his demeanor. And worse, she wouldn’t be able to say no, with him looking at her like a lost puppy- or, baby fox.

The request, however, isn’t for anything too bad. Well, objectively speaking. “I don’t know how much help I’ll be. There’s a reason I’m studying literature and not mathematics, you know,” she commented with a small giggle, stashing the cleaning supplies under the counter. Her math skills were not exactly something to write home about, but for inventory purposes, she supposed they would do.

And besides, she couldn’t say no to him- both because of the puppy dog eyes and because, well, he was her boss and all.

‘prodigal son’ starters: not accepting

"if that’s the bright side,” tohil says with his amusement audible in his voice and a little hint of a smirk on his features. “you are in need of some therapy to help you with that deep-rooted hatred for life you seem to hold inside your chest.”

he reaches out a hand to ruffle the demigod’s hair up, heedless of the way his fingers also mess with the boy’s ears a little as he does so. there’s been plenty instances of tohil randomly putting the demigod on fire at this point to warrant a little bit of familiarity between them.
