shou not being the typical character who already dislikes evil-parent but still needs the protagonists to come in and be like “then you don’t have to follow him” and instead is already 100%(ha) prepared to kick his fathers ass

the short mob-reigen falling out not being a result of reigen having lied about having psychic powers but instead character moments that are far more interesting

ritsu being literally the most dramatic especially upon discovering his powers

ok like. 

i know mob being OP is sorta the point but as gorgeously animated as that means the fights are it also means the stakes feel not all that high? you KNOW that even with some snags along the way he's gonna pull off something bananas p much every time, so idk i just found that kinda boring. meanwhile in hxh killua and gon are prodigies yeah but still fail a ton and have to work their butts off to keep up with the more experienced characters, so when they do succeed it’s that much more rewarding.

not to mention the lack of significant female characters lmfao. from how much people were talking about the mogami arc i was really hoping minori was going to be a more significant character, and i know emi wasn’t hanging out with mob for genuine reasons but idk it was still nice when she was around. and tome! give us more tome please. ofc hxh doesn’t win any prizes in that department either but it's not bad, like even though i badly wish biscuit got to look her age her joining the boys to make up a hero trio for the entire greed island arc was really nice, and there’s several cool female villains too, plus i hear killua’s sisters get more prominence later on so i’m looking forward to that.
