Probably my favorite backyard surprise: when that huge shrub in the corner started blooming + turned out to be a Bougainvillea. The blooms have fascinatingly different blooming stages. Big lizard in my backyard. Well, small lizard with big neck. And yes, Whiskey Dog does chase lizards now since the beach town squirrels are too skittish to dare come near her.
