I just finished the Tribunal DLC, so I thought I’d share my thoughts on it (it’s kinda long)
Honestly, I thought it was fine. Not great, but fine
While I liked seeing the new designs in this different city, I felt like a lot of it was empty. There were passages that took up a lot of room on the map, in sewers and especially in the Clockwork City, that were just empty and just led to dead ends without anything in it
A lot of the quests were just having you run back and forth through similar/the same areas to grab or kill something, and it got really repetitive after the first couple quests
I also was just disappointed with where the whole Dark Brotherhood aspect of the quest went. You are introduced to go to Mournhold because these assassins are trying to kill you, only to take them all out the second you get there and that be the end of it. Sure, you learn that King Helseth sent them, and he has no shame in admitting, but that’s just the end of that. You are tasked to then do (optional) quests for this guy for no reason, and given no further satisfaction over the whole “yeah, I tried to have you killed, and I’ll do it again, unless you want to become my guard dog” and are just left at that. That part I admit frustrated me, and I can’t say I enjoyed all that much
Aside from that, I thought the enemies were a lot tougher here and gave me a good challenge, and I liked the new alchemy ingredients you can get, though I do wish they were more abundant
As someone who’s a bit of a collector whenever I play games the Museum of Artifacts was SUPER satisfying to be able to add to, so I did like that addition
I also love being able to get Trueflame as a reward, and lives the ornamental designs that were on a lot of the buildings, and especially the detail in The Clockwork City and how it went with that whole vibe
All in all, it was fine. Story and quest variation were kinda lacking but I had a good enough time, though I did take a break from it halfway through because of the repetition and because I got bogged down with work (I officially have my masters degree!)
I’m gonna move onto Solstheim next and the Bloodmoon DLC, so wish me luck there!
