Mount Ventoux - For Cycling Lovers

Recently, my sister and I raised 100 dollar for our fundraiser on kingsday! We're both very excited, our parents added another 10 dollar to the fundraiser, what gives us a total of 124 dollar! That's a huge leap forwards for us.

We finally found our goal. Our mothers best friend and colleague got sick half a year ago. After weeks, she finally got medical research. It turned out that she had cancer, colon cancer on an age below 40 whilst having 4 kids, whom 2 younger than 6.  It was operable and everything turned out to be fine! This was a big relief for our mom, since her mother died of colon cancer. Her collegue had massive anxiety attacks during her recovery, but she got better.  When she got the news, our mother also heard from her best friend in her hometown. She had cervical cancer, but it was operable too and everything is going well now.  Recently, her colleague went to the hospital for a standard check in and they found an one inch tumor on her colon. Next week, her chemo's and radiotherapy start and she might be having an operation again, if the former don't work properly.  Our family lost a lot of people to cancer, for example our granddad, grandma, and many more. Our other grandma and granddad had cancer too, but luckily they survived. So, We have decided to support a Dutch charity wich is called "groot verzetten tegen kanker".  What are we going to do?  We will (of are going to) climb Mount Ventoux by bike. For this, we first of all need a bike and some equipment. Besides that we will need money for the journey itself, since Mount Ventoux is in France (nearby Avignon) and we live in Amsterdam, wich is in the Netherlands. If we're able to collect this money, we can start fundraising for the charity itself, 40% of the money we'll raise will be donated to a charity of our choice and the remaining 60% wil be donated to the cancer charity. Every single penny we won't spend on the trip and the bike, we'll donate to sponsor our ride to the top! This is the official website, which it's only available in Dutch.
